AUSSIE - thank you so much for the recipe; it looks delicious. I do use 'cups' - I have some cheapies from Sainsbury's for British recipes and some lovely American ones, too. I hate having to get the scales out! I have some beautiful sky blue French retro scales but I store the day's bread in the dish so, really, it's become a bread bin! Will definitely give the pie a go this week, thanks.

LILLIBET- sending you massive (((hugs))). I suffered severe PND after DS2 was born - wasn't helped by the fact that we had just moved hundreds of miles from home due to DH's work (he was on oil rigs at the time); he was never home, I didn't know anyone and the PND made me feel as if no-one would want to know me so I didn't push myself to make friends, and I missed my Mum and family SOOO much. I didn't go to the doctors because, in those days, they didn't take it seriously and made you feel it was all in your mind. I look back on those days and always picture a black cloud hovering over me all the time; the only thing that kept me going was my two boys. My eldest, only 9 when DS2 was born, was absolutely fantastic and it was he who kept me sane. I'm so glad that doctors take it seriously now - it is an awful thing to go through and you can feel so alone. The advice I would give to anyone nowadays with PND is to take every offer of help that you get, try really hard to get yourself some 'me' time to do whatever you love doing, be it knitting, reading (without reading, I would have gone mad), crosswords or something, but, most of all, to remember that it won't last forever. It really does go away and I think it makes you a more understanding and kinder person. Good luck to you - I know exactly what it feels like.

MARIE - congratulations on the new addition to the family.

Well, I started this post two hours ago but DH popped back in and I had to type a letter for him and have numerous cups of coffee; he has just gone back out so I'm finishing it off.

    Anyway, will pop back later.

I suffered from antenatal depression with both my pregnancies and a sort of OCD. At the time and my youngest is 10 no one recognised it, but just before Xmas I was browsing the web and came across articles about perinatal depression . I wish that it had been recognised 10 years ago as I felt that I was the only 1. If you google depression during pregnancy there is lots out there now, thank god. My husband had to reduce his hours at work as I just couldn't cope. So although my OCD disppeared virtually as soon as the babies were born I have just come off 9 years of 2 prozac a day! The prozac ( or generic version!) didn't help as much as I had hoped, hugs Lillibet - if the double dose doesn't work maybe try something else if you can tolerate the 2 weeks cold turkey!

    Hello all !

Not read through all the posts yet........only just got in. Been to look at pine dresser OH so wants for the kitchen.............it really is nice and the price is affordable...............problem now is the depth of it........will it fit through the doorways etc. I've measured and it will..............only just...............OH is out so not sure what he thinks about it as yet...............desparately want it. It'll give a whole new look to a very 'tired' kitchen and give me a first rate excuse to have a megga clear out of the old painted thing we've got at the moment..................nothing to stop me having a clear out anyway but I'd be far more motivated if I had a reason.

Ex foster girl is after a rocking chair...........one advertised on freecycle so I e mailed giving my phone number..................this was yesterday lunchtime and so far not a word !!! So annoying............oh well, maybe there's a god reason.

Have a good day and hugs (((((((((((((((((:o )))))))))))))) to all those who need them.

    Afternoon all.

DLB - Happy Birthday. Hope you have a good one.

Payday today, and my account is now only 90 overdrawn! (Oh the shame.) somehow I need to find an extra £100 to move to the credit card. No idea how I'm going to do it.

Tesco order came this morning - £107.63 for a months worth. This is for DH & I, and two cats. They are on value crunchies though, so don't really cost much! Does that amount sound reasonable?

Need to write out the meal plan today. I did it on the puter last week, but haven't got round to moving it to the main puter (which has the printer connection.) So, need to write it out by hand, and stick it to the freezer.

Have sliced up a bag of peppers for the freezer, split a couple of trays of chicken pieces and pork loin steaks up into meal sizes (Pork loin steak, nearly a kilo for a fiver!! Good thick steaks too.) Fridge stuff is all put away, so its just the bulky stuff to sort out now. The bulk cupboard is in a right state, so need to pull everything out and start again, I think.

Have my interview tomorrow. I think I've finished my presentation, just need to practice it a lot. Nervous as anything.

Rest of the day will be spent trying not to panic. Need to do my nails, eyebrows, sort out clothes for tomorrow, and generally try to relax.

Have a good afternoon all, and hugs to anyone who wants or needs them.

Lillibet, it isn't a good idea to come off SSRIs like Prozac cold turkey, you should gradually reduce the dose. If you have only just stopped, I think it's OK to restart and come off slowly, but you really should ask your doc about this, as effects can be long lasting. Also talk to doc about a different medication.

    Hi All,

Bit late on today, loads to do at w**k.

Went out at lunchtime and bought a beautiful candle to go on my mum's grave for mothers day - my mum passed away on 20/12/07, cant believe its 2 months ago already. Got a little bit tearful about buying it, but it is lovely and flowers wont really last at this time of year.

(((hugs))) to all in need of one

    Hi!

Happy Birthday dlb Have a great day!

Hardup Hester Your kids are great, but that's got to be down to the way that you've brought them up so well. If your pension is so low would you not qualify for some sort of benefit? After all you've paid your taxes and there are people out there who have never worked a day in their lives and haven't paid anything into the system.

I went over to my parent's house again and thankfully, the hot tap pipe is now ok and not frozen anymore. I was quite surprised as it's still really cold here today. I then popped into Mr T's for a couple of bits and came back home to do some school planning as I'm back in work tomorrow.

Tonight's tea is hm frozen lasagne, hm potato wedges and carrots. I was quite naughty as I bought some jam filled donoughts in Tescos for afters, as they were cheap and we need something in this cold weather that will stick to our ribs!:rotfl:
I'm off out tonight to a church meeting at someone's house and DD1 is back at Guides as well.
    Have a good day!
  • Purpleivy - I think that was me that said about coming of the prozac cold turkey.

That is the quandary if they are not helping as much as you hope. You need 2 weeks between prozac and another (if my memory serves me right) and the problem is that if you just finish them you come crashing down. This is how i was stuck on them for 9 years without perhaps having the best medication as the thought of weaning myself off them slowly and then 2 weeks with nothing was unimaginable.

    Catch22!
