Morning everyone
I am in pain today! I broke a back tooth the other day, and while the tooth itself isn't sore my tongue rubs against the broken edge and is now rubbed raw. I am finding it hard to do my two favourite things, ie eat and talk. I am persevering with a bowl of porridge, I will not be defeated!!!!
AussieLass - I'd love a recipe for a savoury Impossible Pie, please
Have a lovely day everyone

 Good Morning everyone
I quite like this recovery. I am lying on the sofa and His sorting the boys out ready for schoolOff to the drs today so they can reduce some of the wadding and bandages on my leg.Quite worried how i am going to get from the car to the surgery.Since i am unable to put any weight onto it.
Hugs to those who need / want a hug
Get well wishes to anyone who might need them

Ooooh babiesand jobs

I'm sorting through things and having a use-up week. I've grated leftover candles - why do shops sell candles that are too wide for 1 wick? I ended up with loads of candles that have burned halfway down the middle but left the sides intact  I melted the lot and made 12 new ones. I used ice lolly moulds. Oh and I grated my hand too, that hurt
I have lots of odd shaped bits of backing papers leftover too, so I made some patchwork cards
Mr tru is working at home today so no doubt he'll get in my way :rolleyes:Bulletproof0 -
Hi all - not spent much time on here lately due to DH being home waiting for the go-ahead for work (luckily, starting tomorrow); he has registered with three local authorities here and the paperwork they need from him is a nightmare. I've had to download several forms which I shall print off today and he can go through them ready for posting. He hates paperwork and filling in forms so I end up supervising him. He has always advised any young man wanting to run his own business to marry a secretary! I have been promised that, from next week, I will be earning a proper salary (we'll see!).
Anyway, HESTER - what wonderful children you have!
AUSSIE - I can't believe you said you have recipes for savoury impossible pies and didn't post one! Your coconut one, which is so easy to make, always goes down a treat here so I'd be really grateful for a recipe for a savoury one!
I really should have read yesterday's thread right through before posting on here but, to any newbies, WELCOME - and I'm pretty sure someone has a birthday today so HAPPY BIRTHDAY to that someone.
Well, the weather has been beautiful lately, even though it's very cold first thing. There is a lunar eclipse tonight (last one until 2010). It starts at 1.43am (GMT), becomes total at 3.10 and lasts, apparently, until 5.09am - I might just set the alarm to catch the last half an hour. I love things like that - nature at it's most awesome, just reminding us that we don't control it!
Anyway, I babysat last night and the little darlings didn't wake up (which I know is a good thing, but five minutes wouldn't have hurt!). I watched that programme about the little girl born with a parasitic conjoined twin, giving her four arms and four legs. She was a beautiful little thing and was successfully operated on (to a degree, anyway, there is still more work to be done). That reminded me that there ARE some things we can do to get the better of nature.
Well, I'm waffling - today I have lots of pottering to do. The 5-drawer chest of drawers that I only obtained for my office about three months ago needs sorting out already because it's difficult finding anything in it, so that will be the first job after the housew**k. I have stuck to my resolution of not letting the ironing pile up - I have three things which I will do before lunch. It has certainly helped towards my de-stressing campaign; you really can't ignore ironing for very long, can you, because it just keeps glaring at you!
Well, I suppose I'd better clear up the breakfast things and go and put some clothes on (as opposed to my dressing gown, I'm not naked!).
Hope everyone has a great day and I really hope I can pop back on here more than I have for the last few days.
See ya!

CHOCOLATE.ORANGE - why don't you phone the surgery in advance and ask if someone can be there to help you from the car? I'm sure one of the nurses or receptionists could help. Good luck with it.
SNOWY - if you have a dentist, he would be able to file down the rough edge of tooth - it would only take about five minutes (I used to be dental nurse!); it's worth phoning them up. If you don't have a dentist, phone your local PCT (local health authority) or NHS Direct (0845 46 47) to find a dentist in your area.KNIT YOUR SQUARE TOTALS:

TATTYCATH hope all goes well with your daughter today.
HUGS to anyone else who wants one, especially those with SAD. I don't think people take it seriously enough.
Well I didn't get much sleep last night due to OH perpetual snoring  . I even wear ear plugs. Am seriously thinking of sleeping in the spare room.
It's thick fog here. Don't think I'll get any washing on the line. DS has got a party next door later, so am off to make some little cakes in a minute. It's funny how they are the first thing adults and children home in on.
Will have a look in the freezer in a mo, no idea about dinner, might do chicken and rice. Also need to study. Have to go to bed later as I'm on nights tonight and tomorrow.
Have a good day all.

We have some veg curry, made when I was getting ahead at the weekend, so will do dh's fave spicy rice to go with it I think. If I have time I would like to try and do some onion bhaji's, but this sseems unlikely! Have a full day of house stuff to do, but will no doubt be punctuated with visits here! Breakfast time!!"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Morning everyone
I haven't been on the daily thread for ages, but I do still read it religously. I seem to be swamped at the mo, a 2.5YO, a 11 week old puppy with dihorrea, the Dr has just doubled my PND anti-depressants, a part time job & a laundry pile which can almost touch the ceiling, budgets spiriling out of control & a huge urge to crawl back into bed & spend the rest of my life there only emerging for Friends repeats on E4:o
SO! I need to pull myself together. And I'm hoping that by reporting on here, and maybe you wonderful guys acting as a sounding board, I might be able to turn myself around.
Today my oldest & best friend is brining a carpet-picnic lunch over & is going to try & work through a few things with me.
I have sorted out a meal plan for the rest of the week.
I have a cunning plan with the budget, I need to find another £100 a month to deal with increases in council tax, water rates, fuel prices, food increases etc. If I merge hubbys & my incomes into a joint account instead of seperate ones I should be able to see where weare making savings & apply them more efficently to the deficiet. Might still have to sell a kidney to make up the shortfall though:o Need to ring E.on about changing to a better more efficent fuel plan. But 1st things 1st.....must put clean laundry away & get another load on, then vacuum, tidy, get Spud up & fed.....will report back later how I get on.
Have a happy Old Style day everyone;)Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!0
