Tesco Clubcard Plus - Double Points

I have a reply from Tesco Entertainment in answer to the question I asked above:

Yes we accept this card , please select "Master Card" as your form of payment and you will be able to proceed.

Unfortunately they've put the price of the item I wanted to buy up by 6 pence (lol) and now I don't have enough in the account to pay for it. Give me strength!

One newbie checkout girl tried arguing with me that it was an old style cc that had "expired" and she could only take the new style ones now. After insisting she tried to swipe it (and it worked), she asked for the money. Lol- that checkout girl seems worse then the staff I have come across who just seem like they didn't listen to the CC+ talk and are completely oblivious- worst thing is, I'm in London- know we are not the center of the universe here, but would have thought the sheer volume of customers would help educate staff on what the card was/how to use it!

I couldn't get it to work and in the end just used a different card.

Looks like they've stopped applications again - my parents just tried to get the application form but were told they're not accepting applications and don't know if they will be again in the future.

Yes, shelvis, it is true. People using the Clubcard+ get the third point per pound spent when they use their Clubcard+ to pay at the checkout.

Unfortunately I can backup the no new applications stance. I applied for one for my wife and they only allowed the application as it was for a partner card.
I am guessing they are keeping CC+ on hold while they sort out the new Tesco bank. Hopefully existing CC+ will get sweetners to transfer. I remember my old Tesco Visa (maybe mastercard) credit card that got double points. That offer was withdrawn quite a way back. Unfortunately I'd cancelled my account (rate tarting leaves you with far too much access to credit).
On the plus side I reckon now I can get 600BA miles for just an £84 spend on CC+ so a 'free' flight to the states for spending 7k in tesco. Hmmm 7k doesn't sound quite so good.

i want to top up my clubcard plus with a bit extra today for some extra bits, is it right that i can add on to my card at customer services in store and if so can i use it straight away or will the extra i have added not be on my card straight away? if so does anyone know how long it takes to go on to the card? ty in advance

Sorry to bump this old thread - I don't know if it's been covered anywhere else, but I certainly can't see it in the Ts and Cs of the new changes to Clubcard on the Tesco site.

Does anyone know if this affects Clubcard Plus? Now that double points are the norm, then there's no benefit to use the card as payment in store.

What happens now that fuel is 1 point per £2. Would I get 2 points for £2 by using Clubcard Plus?
