Yes, you have to use it to pay.0

I phoned them the other day and no mention of it ending, in fact they said they are looking into making it chip and pin to make it easier at the tills. That was the reason I had phoned up as can get a bit annoying not being able to use the fast check-outs because I have to sign for everything.
I have had the argument ad nauseum with Tesco who were adamant they were not going chip and pin. I hope they have changed their minds.
You can use the fast check outs with the cc+ card. You simply swipe it and it will alert the staff member manning them to come over and authorise the payment and check your signature.0 -
Are you all aware that you only get 1 point for every 4£ spend out side Tescos YES YES i hear u say.
But that on every single spend , eg spend £4,50 on card 1 point, spend £3.00 no point spend £7.99 1 point ,
spend £ 8.01 2 points 50p spent no points ,
Total here on £ 4.00 spends = 4 points so what about the money over and or under a £4 spend .
50p 50p 3.00 3.99 0.01 = £8.00 but no points .
Cant find any were in terms & conditions that explains this Tesco s Finance are not being up front
with customers .
How do others feel about this ,0 -
I've been able to use my CC+ to pay at Tesco Direct but can't get the Tesco Entertainment checkout to accept it. Does anyone know for sure if or if not Tesco Entertainment accept CC+ as a form of payment?0

Um, are you talking about clobcard plus? its not able to be used outside Tescos, it doesn't have a "chip" and needs to be signed for. Its 1 extra point per £1 spent in store, so we get double points like everyone else, and then an extra point.
As for needing to spend the full pound, most stores have this as a rule now, Boots, Nectar...all the same. Tesco aren't perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but this is not so different from any other store IMO.0 -

I have never had an issue with the staff using a card on electrical products, but I always use the main till for them.
I have though, on many occassions told a member of staff how to use the card (e.g "you need to swipe it, no don't hand it back to me I will need to sign in a minute. No its not broken it just has no pin. You need to retain that reciept with my sig. on it, its for your till not my purse") I have a set on instructions for loading up the card- many staff are unaware I can do this, I have been refused "you can't do that with this card" many times. ("Its TPF, Cash Deposits, type in the amount and then "No", wait for print out and sign")
It would seem 1 in every 14 knows how the card works. The rest need prompts, advice or enthusiams to give it a go. There is no reason it cannot be used on electrical items at the electrical till if I can take a keyboard through the normal cash till.0 -
Sorry, I'm meaning on the Tesco Entertainment website. I've used the card on the Tesco Direct website (electricals) but it didn't work this morning on Entertainment (CDs etc).0

ROFL, most of the people at my nearest store know the thing inside out - but one or two still need talking through it.
One newbie checkout girl tried arguing with me that it was an old style cc that had "expired" and she could only take the new style ones now. After insisting she tried to swipe it (and it worked), she asked for the money. I told her I wanted to pay on that card too, and she went off on one about how I'd recieve vouchers in the post and I needed those to pay with. Supervisor was called, she argued with her supervisor too, and was told to "go and wait outside the manager's office". :rotfl:0 -
Sorry to be thick  but how do l get double clubcard points, by ringing and asking for my clubcard to be upgraded (if they still do this l see this is an old thread) OR am l better off getting a tesco credit card, paying with that and paying the bill off each month?
I've been using my clubcard well and am getting alot of vouchers but if l can use it to double up, great! :money:
Happy moneysaving all.0 -
Everybody gets double points now, but you can get triple points by using a Clubcard Plus. You put money into the card (it's a basic bank account really) and then use it like a debit card at the till. Unfortunately it's not Chip and PIN so you still have to sign.
Yes to get one you'll have to call Tesco Personal Finance, that's if they still do them which as far as I know they do.0
