I moved to FD a couple of years ago to get £50 or whatever it was; moving from HSBC.

I agree with a couple of posters above that FD are fantastic - I would never have believed that I could be so pleased with a bank.

I would happily pay to have my accounts with them - to be able to phone up and have somebody (not a computer/switchboard) answer straight away is such a convenient tool.

Aren't there forum rules about offensive comments ...? ;) :rotfl:

Imprudent granting of credit is bound to prove just as ruinous to a bank as to any other merchant.

My transfer date is this Friday, for DDs and SOs to start getting paid from my FD 1st account, instead of my soon to be former bank.

I'm actually really really excited by it....and I could quite easily make FD's website my homepage.:D

    Hi
Is the FD current account straightforward to open? Is it a case of just sending off application form and getting credit checked?

What about ID requirements? Do these need to be sent in the post? (not keen on sending passport etc by post). Also, do they ask to see existing bank statements?

    Thanks

The only thing I sent in was a signed declaration - no passport / utility bill required / bank statements required for me. They did however want to speak to me at my office contact number. Same thing with my other half. Not quite sure what this validates. I found the set up was simple and the service so far has been great.

Hi guys - just to clarify - I opened my account on 27/2 and paid in 3 lots of £1500 directly from another account (i.e. not my salary) and have today received the £100.:rotfl: I think this proves that the money can come from anywhere and does not need to be a salary payment from your employer. Hope this helps.

Just got to decide if I want to close the account now - FD are actually pretty good - they beat the Halifax hands down IMHO.

how long after the account has been opened do you have before you have to start putting in the £1500 - website says within 3 months - does that mean if you open it in April you dont have to start putting in the £1500 July and then carry on putting it in until September?
    thanks
