:T Well done you. I think this is such a lovely idea and so much more nicer than having it wrapped in the attic for years on end. I don't know anyone who has ever worn their wedding dress again.:D0 -

Mine had been in various attics for 15 or so years. There is no way I would have ever got into it again and it was a puffy sleeved button down the back with huge bow on the bum style. was perfect at the time but ......................................Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

:rotfl: My mums was awful. A smock style dress that looked like a sack of spuds on her! No doubt mine will look awful in about 20 years time too.

Well finally... my dress has been shipped from asapbay, woo! Sent on Saturday and last tracked in Shanghai. So glad they managed to get it out sooner than they said, a big relief for me. Apparently it takes 5-7 days, but I'm away this Friday til Monday, then my friend who's my bridesmaid and the only person I really want to see it and help me get into it and do it up is away from the Wednesday so I am hoping it arrives in time for us to do a 'fitting' Tuesday before she goes on holiday other wise it'll be another 10 days or so.0

What is the average wait for one of these dresses then? I actually told the girl that I was not in any rush and for her to take her time on it as I wanted a few alterations doing, and doing well.

I waited about 8 weeks all together but 2 of those were a chinese public holiday for new year and I also said that I wasn't in a great hurry as I had 8 months at that point. I also had mine altered so that the train was detachable which must have taken a bit longer as well.
Saying that I ordered in January when I wouldn't have thought they would have been so busy.
If you're getting your dress from asapbay email and ask I always got a reply within 24 hours even at weekends.Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

I was quoted 6 weeks, as I asked for a rough idea of when it will be ready as I wanted it as soon as possible. Depends who you are getting it from, and if you told them when you needed it by I guess, some ladies I have spoken to on another forum ordered from other places, not asapbay, and didnt specify a date and as they didn't consider it urgent it took a few months as other people were asking for theirs by a specific date so their was being done as and when they had time as it wasn't a priority for them.
Personally I would ask for an idea of when it will be ready by, if you've said to them take their time they might have a different idea as to what that means, to what you might think is acceptable!0 -
I am soooooo happy. They've now lowered the neckline and it's ready. Please see attached pics and also the detachable flower that goes with the dress.
