I just wanted to say that I bought my wedding dress through a US Ebay store called Just Pretty Bridal. They are an actual bridal shop based in downtown Manhattan and they are official stockists of a number of designers. They have both a shop on Ebay.com and an independent website (you can find it if you look on Google)

It arrived last week – it took 8 weeks to be made and around 10 days to deliver from the US to me. It is absolutely perfect. It is an official Alfred Angelo dress and came in a Alfred Angelo box and has Alfred Angelo tags etc inside.

The best part is that in the UK my dress would’ve cost me £800 but I paid £298 (including the international delivery charge). I had to pay another £43 customs and import tax (which I knew I may have to pay). So all in all my dress has cost me just short of £350 – not a bad saving.

I would post a picture but my fianc! comes on here and I don’t want him to see but if anyone would like to see a picture then feel free to PM me. I can whole heartedly recommend this company to brides on a budget – their dresses are NOT copies they are authorised dresses by selected designers and are made to order just as they would be if you purchased through a bridal shop in the UK.

I'm just querying the neckline at the mo as it's a tad higher than I wanted it but to be honest, it's not that big a deal. I LOVE the colour!

wow, that's gorgeous! I see what you mean about the neckline, might just be the way it's on the dummy.
This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

In true moneysaving style, I spotted details on the Saturday Express magazine:

Recycle your wedding dress for a good cause. Cancer Research UK has launched a Weddings Campaign to encourage people to sell unwanted items from their wedding day on Ebay and donate a percentage to the charity. Gaynor Faye is launching the campaign by auctioning the wedding dress she wore in the ITV drama Fat Friends. For details, see https://www.ebay.co.uk/cancerresearchuk

Hope this helps someone find the dress of their dreams.

Also i read about a really good idea that will help millions of women. You can donate your wedding dress to the Breast Cancer foundation and they then sell them on to make money for the foundation. For anyone who has been touched by cancer i thought this was a really lovely way to help.

How can you help make dreams come true? At this time, we are in need of contemporary gown styles, slips and veils dating from 2000 until the present day. Each gown that arrives at our organization is carefully prepared for our upcoming "Brides Against Breast CancerTM, Nationwide Tour of Gowns" sales. The thousands of generous donations we receive from designers, manufactures, bridal shops, and individuals worldwide, enables Making Memories to grant final wishes to women and men suffering from terminal breast cancer.
Until recently, we have been able to accept gowns from all eras and in any condition, which we sell nationally and worldwide or produce into quilted artworks. However, due to our extensive inventory of vintage, antique and retro gowns, we recommend all generous potential classic era donors withhold their contributions until we have room to accommodate these prized garments. We anticipate posting an announcement on this website when we once again have the ability to manage these treasured gifts with the respect they deserve. Additional wedding related items are always welcome, we accept bridesmaid, mother of the bride and flower girl dresses, along with other wedding specific items such as veils, shoes, purses, slips, bras, etc.... :D

I've already done this. I had left my dress from last time at my mum's when I moved and she donated it on my behalf to the local hospital. They raised loads of cash for a great cause and my dress has gone to a good home. :D
Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended :p
