Ebay Wedding Dresses

My wedding dress and the 2 bridesmaids dresses was due from Landy yesterday, nothing came although I was not surprised as I emailed last week to ask when it will be sent and an assistant Vivian told me they will forward the tracking number when they have sent it and I hadn't received it yet.
I emailed yesterday to find out if it had been sent, and I have just read the reply Vivian emailed back... "they are very busy at the moment and it will be at least another 40 days until they are finished". Grrrrr they could have told me!
I am quite angry at this (although I'll calm down in a minute), I wouldn't mind as I understand it's a busy time, but we discussed at length before placing my order that it will definitely arrive by the end of May, for many reasons:
- The ONLY time before the wedding (October) I have to go shopping for a veil, jewellery, shoes etc is 2 weekends in June and I can't get any of these things until the dress arrives and I see the exact colour and how much sparkle etc there is. Every other weekend between now and the wedding is taken up with other commitments so I can't go shopping for these things.
- The only time I could get a hair and make-up trial with the lady doing it on the day is the last weekend in June (shes booked up with other weddings until October) and when I go, 1) I need to have my veil and 2) I need to know that is the dress I am wearing, to know how the hair/make-up will be done. It is a mix of 2 dresses that I couldn't choose between, so until it arrives I don't even know if it will be what I imagined and want to wear.
- My mum and one of my bridesmaids, who live a few hours away and run a shop (so can't take time off) have spent a lot of time trying to get cover for the weekend of the trial so they can attend, and it's the only time they can do it, so even if the trial could be re-scheduled it would still be no good as they can't come iyswim. It's the only time we can all get together before the wedding with my other bridesmaid to check how everything looks together.
I received emails before ordering that promised it by the 20th, and even said it would probably arrive a week or so earlier, I know I have plenty of time until the wedding but it holds up everything else now, and things that can't be done without the dress!!
I can't believe after all the times I 've recommended them on here and other forums, that it ends up with me being mega disappointed with them. I'm sure the dresses will be great but this hold-up and not being informed has peed me off, as other things depended on them being here on time.
Sorry just needed to vent before I start shouting at my colleagues for things that aren't their fault lol!!!0 -
I'm so sorry that you've been disappointed love. Could they at least send a picture of the mockup so the hairdresser can get a looksee?
If yu buy your veil and jewellery for a bridal shop, can you ask to try on one of their dresses that is similar whilst you pick? It'll give you an idea at least. Your mum can still go shopping with you, just means beign a bit inventive, and maybe carrying a picture of the dress.
I really hope they're wrong, and it arrives soon! This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

I'm ordering the veil online and will need to match the colour of the dress to the edging that I want on the veil, so really need the dress before I can order. I have a sample of the colour but they told me it may change but will be as close as they can get, so don't really want to rely on that... if only there wasn't so many shades of gold!! Nothing I'm buying is from a bridal shop so won't be able to try a similar dress on, but it was a good idea lol.
No mockup unfortunately, asapbay don't seem to do them. I've emailed back asking if it's possible to rush it through for me to receive it by the 13th June, explaining why, so fingers crossed they can do it (everyone cross your fingers please).
I have relaxed a bit now, just was so disappointed.0 -
Hi All,
My dress from Milly Bridal is currently delayed due to the earthquake in China. Some of the workers families have been affected by it so this may explain some other people's delays with other Chinese companies.0 -
I read about the Milly delays on another wedding forum. I hope they are all OK over there. We're in such a bubble. It seems so far away until you realise how the people in places like China touch our lives in ways we forget about.0

Yes I did think maybe it was the earthquake, I asked about it in my email to them... they said no, they were just too busy at the moment. They also said they will do their best to get it to me by 20th June so hopefully will have it for my trial at least, I guess I can do the rest of the shopping online if I don't get chance to go to real shops!
You're right Loulabelle, you don't realise how it affects people in other places too. So much stuff is made in China and imagine all the factories etc that were demolished in the quake, people will soon start to notice the effect.0 -

LOL. I think that was me!0 -
I'm not surprised you are teed off honeypop.
At least you know it hasn't got lost in transit - how much worse would that be????
I was originally outbid on my dress and made the mistake of checking the original item number and the other girl got hers 3 weeks before me (according to her feedback) so can understand where you are coming from. Mine took longer because I'd asked for a detachable train. It was definitely worth the wait as I now may not even have the train on it.
Its no help but try not to stress too much. I have similar worries about my bridesmaid dresses from a UK supplier. They should arrive around the 4th July the wedding is on the 11th August and 1 will definitely need shortening so watch out for a stressed post from me around then.
If you need to let off steam this is the place to do so as we can all sympathise.
xOfficially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

Can't find the thread about creases, but have some good news....I asked in the local charity shop and the lady said fetch my dress down the day before wedding, she will move all the rails in the shop and lay sheets down and steam my dress
Was so happy, that 65 pounds saved!!Mrs Storeyxx
