  • Evening everyone! Just caught up after getting home from school late - DD1 and DS NOT impressed at having to stay in after school club! DD1 now off at Brownies (expected home any time now) whilst other 2 are fed, bathed and in bed!
Just thinking back to fibs we tell our children. DS wouldn't eat salmon - but would eat his 'pink chicken', which was fine at home but I was given some strange looks in the staff room when he told his class that mummy cooked pink chicken last night and gave it to us to eat!
Plans for tonight are to crack on with list (30 mins) then lie like beached whale on sofa watching trash telly. Ironing all up to date (see my halo shine!) and all school reports read and returned to teachers concerned.
ORF is making me smile - will have to try and check in from school!! (Although could be hard to explain why I'm laughing so much). DH is due back from frozen north later tonight - so best crack on. See you later

    (Sneaks in quietly)
Hi everyone, i haven't had a chance to read through the thread so big hugs, cheers and everything else for ya all pick whatever suits.

Things have been pretty busy here,
    Hubby's meds changed,
DD got her new special shoes (about time she went up 2 sizes),
3 eye tests later and were all kitted out with new glasses,
plans for the house drawn up and sent (waiting patiently now),
dog bit through 3 tyres while car moving had to get new ones (stupid dog),
quit smoking again and i'm off them nearly 3 weeks :j longest ever.

Hope everyone is well and hopefully i'll get to stick around for awhile, i've been missing it and the house is abit of a mess again:rotfl: .

Pigpen i did see your post about being told to feed your child junk because of weight. I was told the exact same feed rubbish just to get their weight up shocking isn't it, she was politely told to get stuffed and that it wouldn't be happening so they put him on the drinks. Mine you i have an appointment tomorrow for both DD and DS1 and i'm sure they will be sent back to the dietitian.
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

steph OMG he's a brave man  My OH always totally dismissed the idea there was absolutely no discussion about it after number 2, no way would he have it done, and I wasnt that bothered and fine to be on the pill or whatever, but now we have number 3 he is well scared of having any more!! We are definitely finished and now he is actually able to say the word "snip" without going into a blind panic LOL I am still not bothered one way or the other, its up to him, so we shall see!!
Don't know if you are or not, but you sound less stressed from the tone of your posts :)

G&B - hugs hope you are managing a relaxing evening after your stressful journey.
Soappie & mudbath – once we have moved I will be able to join you in the bird watch reports unfortunately we are in a new estate at the moments not trees or bushes big enough yet for the birds to use.
soappie - good luck for tomorrow will await updates.
    Everyone else HI.

I have managed most of the bits from today's list but still have catch ups from yesterdays but as DD2 is away most of the day to a friend to play I should get more done. Was distracted this afternoon helping the girls put together their puzzleballs which they received for xmas – they were great but very fiddly.

    Anyway tomorrow looks like –

samphire - re the party food, I think you have hit the nail on the head when you say "its a party". I've always gone into the kids parties thinking I dont care what they eat or even if they eat, if they do eat and it saves me doig a meal later great, but I always expect them to eat sod all! For a party personally rather than spend time making stuff more economically which ends up being binned cos it wont keep, I have always tried to buy in things I can take home and use later in the week for lunches - so baby bels, boxes of raisins, pre-cooked cocktail sausages, bags of crisps (only open a few at a time), grapes, chocolate fingers, party rings and I usually make 2-3 little sandwiahce per child and if they need binned so be it or else I bring them home for tea!!! That way there is very little actual wastage even if it costs more in the first place. I always did cheapo diluting juice and not expensive fruit shoot type things. I cant believe your friends aren't up for that!!!

Sorry I havent been much help at all have I, but that is always my logic.

My best friend ran out of time to do a barbie cake (barbie doll stuck in an upturned pudding bowl shaped cake so the cake looked like her full skirt) as she was movinghouse the same week as her daughters party. She paid some cake making woman £45 to make one   We had some at the party and it wasnt even nice, very very dry. My cakes are better (and I am not a great cake baker!!)

  • Hi everyone!
Have managed ok (largely thanks to my superstar Mum - who washed the kitchen floor for me when she was looking after DD2!). Surfaces clean, floor clean, washing put away, towels washed and put away and DH home.
Am now off to talk to DH!
    See you later!

Actually Soappie, that's a good idea because people are less likely to question a red squirrel carrying a catapault if they're wearing latex gloves. I'll blend in better!:rotfl:
