Just had to pay a fortune to get 2 books I desperately need delivered quickly. Gutted! Very unMoneySaving, but there was nothing else I could do.

    *weeps*

    I hate this dissertation!

I've had to do a similar thing myself...but if you do well, then it's worth it!

Indeed, but as I'm running out of time rapidly, I wonder how well I will do given I'll have little time to edit/revise?!

Better get on with it, then...

Has everyone finished or at least caught up? I'm struggling here and have technically 2 x 4000 words to do by 1st December though I'll get an extension on the second as I won't make it (I'm a part timer by the way and working full time). I've had a bad bout of writer's block/procrastination and been really stuck for the last couple of months, though i've lots to write about and keep collecting relevant papers and information.

Anyway, I need to get back on track asap as it'll spoil my Christmas if I don't get at least one of these out of the way soon.

Good luck to anyone else there who's struggling.

Deadline (17th of Dec) is creeping up. Really starting to get stressed out by this.

I'm stressed too, though I've booked a couple of days off work to really make a dent in mine. I'll also have to request an extension on my research methods assignment (exploratory study for main research). If I don't get organised i'll ruin the next few weeks including Christmas when I'm going away, which would be a disaster.

So, tomorrow's a new day and I will get it done!

  • I've been tomorrow is a new day for far too long now. Damn depression! Really slowing down any progress that I make.

Well, I have left the bulk of my assignment right until the last minute and now have a stack to do this weekend. Why?!!! I know how stressful this is.... and even though I'm busy and hate writing, this is my subject, my choice and should be right up my street.

I found quite a useful article on procrastination:
    http://sas.calpoly.edu/asc/ssl/procrastination.html
which I've worked though and made some notes, so:

    This isn't so hard really
    It won't take long
I am sure I know how to do it
I can learn while I'm doing it
I do want to do it (though it doesn't feel that way just now)

    My plan is:

Quick tidy up before I start (max 30 minutes)

Clear a workspace. I'm going to try upstairs in the study/spare bedroom rather than down on the dining table, though there's less room to spread out here so I may change that.

5 minutes correcting amendments on work so far (It's a 4k critique, I've done about 1k so far) and checking format for references.

Then I'm going to plan the next section in detail.

Next 30 minutes to put stuff in loft and have a cuppa.

Will post how I get on (even if I'm the only one reading it!)
