Not a Dissertation but I have finally finished my Teaching Portfolio and File for hand in on Monday morning!! 2 huge lever arch files stuffed full of evidence, essays, evaluations and lesson plans etc. OMG!! I have no idea how I'm going to lug these up to Oxford on the train. Think I may have to take my shopping trolley:eek:
I don't get how loads of people handed their sin last week - I haven't had time to do it as I was teaching right up until last week!! Mind you - I did over 200 teaching hours and the minimum to pass was only 15 so I reckon they just finished early to concentrate on getting their files ready!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
So glad I now have my life back - just have to concentrate on doing my Masters in September now - Yeay!!!Noli nothis permittere te terere

Whooooo! It involved MSE cold turkey and other things, but dissertation is in! And a week early too!!!
The downside, is that I no longer have a "cushion" between me and all the blinking exams about to hit me (like a 10 tonne truck!)... Urrgggghhhhh...April Grocery Challenge £81/£1200 -
Are there any post grads out there still doing their dissertation?
Mine has to be handed in by Aug 21st but all my under grad flatmates have now moved out and I'm feeling very unmotivated!!
I've done all the research for it but now have to write the damn thing!0 -
Hi everyone who is still studying!
I'm still at the beginning of my course (year 1 of 4 year taught doctorate) and have lots to do, like two 4000 word assignments due on 1st September. I've not started on the dissertation though some of the research design module assignments can be used if they are relevant/good enough.
I'm holding my breath waiting for my last assignment back which was written at the last minute in a hurry, so not as polished as I'd have liked. I mustn't let this happen again.somewhere between Heaven and Woolworth's0 -

You poor thing. I really feel for you for I was in the same boat this time last year. Gosh, it feels so FAR FAR FAR away now. Just keep slugging away and just get the nightmare over and believe it will be over soon. I remember going to the gym one day and someone casually asked how it was going and I seriously got hysterical recounting the nightmare I was living until the person turned around and calmly told me to remember that in a few months all of it would be a distant memory. She was also a graduate so that did help put things in perspective.
You can do it, and you will do it. Forget the motivation, call on the will :T Pretty soon we will be referring to you as Ms Janey78 MA/MSc*

Awww Mand1 that's brilliant, well done
To those of you still doing your dissertations, good luck! Keep at it, the feeling you get when it's finished is soooo worth it! Write as much as you can, and keep giving drafts to your supervisor if they're willing to have a look at it. All the best0 -
Afternoon all!
I'm still at it - my year abroad project (5000 words) is due in 3rd October, but I leave Germany in 4 weeks, so would like to have it done by then, so can go job hunting over the summer in preparation for my final year.
Argh!
Good luck to anyone who is still out there,...I like my coffee black, just like my metal!

Anyone else studying at this time of year? I'm working on an assignment (or will be when I get going) which will count towards my thesis and need to kick start myself. The topic is a critical review of a key study related to my project and it needs to be 4000 words. This is due by 1st September, though I'm on holiday from 22nd August so I need to get going now.
I know what to do, have most of the info I need at least for a draft but am low on the motivation and time (as I work full time). Any tips for getting going?
If I don't do it I'll be very stressed and end up taking it on holiday which I def don't want to do.somewhere between Heaven and Woolworth's0
