I'm not doing my dissertation but I've got uni coursework that I've had the whole 6 week easter break to do and I just can't get into it, have wasted so much time! Feel a bit more motivated reading some of the thread... I felt like I had loads to do (3000-4000 words) but if you guys can do that much in a day I must be able to do it by next week!! Gonna make a proper start now.0

I'm doing a health professional type thing too--didn't want to answer if it's a field I know nothing about.
I'm still not totally sure whether you mean literature review or data analysis (like interviews/focus groups), so will try to answer both.
For my lit review I just read the text and made notes of key issues as I went along, can usually get a good idea of start points from the chapter introduction or article abstract.
For my data analysis I've read the transcripts and am going through them painstakingly line by line, pulling out key ideas points. I'll group these into categories, and there are my themes.
I don't know if theres an easier way (if there is can someone PLEASE tell me:rolleyes: ). I know that it's vital to document your methods and any changes as you go along, for transparency, otherwise you could just have made it up and it's not worth much.
Good luckAnytime;)0 -

I'm soo impressed that you've all finished, I remember that at one point I wondered whether people finishing them was just a rumour!
I'm enjoying doing mine now, (I'm weird like that) so don't mind the long evenings after I'm back from placement as I love my subject (now I've finished the b***y lit review anyway!)
Still can't imagine really handing it in, WOW, what a feeling that must be.Anytime;)0
