    Best thing to do get up early even if u feel crap for a few days and itl sort your sleep pattern out. Thats what i been doing been getting up 8/9 everyday which is a big for me. Usually i dont get up till 11/12 and even thats early!

    I can't seem to get out of bed early though! When the alarm goes off i'm not in any fit state to realise that I need to get out of bed and just press snooze instead!

    I was having that problems tried everything. If your active during day it makes you more tired. So you sleep better. Although i went out other night and woke up late again! lol Enjoy it! in a few months you'l miss it.

    I *love* the British library (what a geek)! It's the best place in the world for me to concentrate, I go there all the time. If there's any articles you desperately need let me know, I'm going tomorrow.

    I got really embarrassed there last week...y'know how they search your bag on the way in..I'd forgotten about the litre and a half bottle of Jack Daniels in my bag..Security guard pulled it out and started cheering..they wanted me to join them on their break :embarasse

    I love that, probably made their day:rotfl: :rotfl: (they didn't confiscate it did they:eek:)

    Thanks for the article offer, I'll be using the Boston Spa, Yorkshire, branch as it's driveable distance from me. I've thought about going down to London (1.5 hours on the train), as they have more materials, but the cost/organisation required put me off.

    I too think 7,000 is doable, I'm just fed up with it :confused: , you know how it goes at times--I want to be out there working and having a life, and a break from studies for a while.

    Getting up early--things I've tried are:

    moving the alarm clock so I have to get out of bed to switch it off (has to be a very annoying alarm);

    promising myself a treat at 11.00 if I've done x hours of work;

    switching to a radio alarm so I wake up more gently (most successful for me, waking to a screeching alarm makes me wanna hide even more) ;

    arranging to meet a friend/have an appointment, early (should, theoretically, be easier to get up earlynext day(s):D )

    I dunno, it's a tough call, beds are cosy,
    good luck:confused:
    Anytime;)

    Yes! I was worrying about it in bed the other night and couldn't sleep. But now when I am starting to worry I am telling myself NO! Stop worrying! I will just make myself feel bad and not do anything.
    Just tell yourself NO! and sit at the computer, log off the internet and start writing. Or what I often do, write on pen and paper and type it up, less distraction that way I find!

    I am on the same amount except that mine is to be 10,000-12,000 so you can definitely do it.

    What I also find helps is writing a timtable. Eg, half an hour writing, then 20 minute break, but write it minute by minute eg, 11.00 - 11.30 work etc. Then cross off each one as you do it.

    What is yours on?

    I noticed no-one's posted on here for a while.

    I hope that's because you've all finished and have wonderful complete dissertations already (or maybe because you're all working so hard you've no time for MSE)
  • not complete i am afraid :( got 2 and a half weeks till my 15000-18000 word dissertation has to be in and i got about 5000 words atm, its doable, but i got other group work and job interview and job applications in the middle!! ouch

    I think I'm finished. But it's still three weeks til deadline. I'm very confused really. I've never finished a piece of work this early before. But i have nothing more to add and I've addressed everything my tutor pointed out when he read over it for me.

    It's very disconcerting :confused: :rotfl:
    Total abstinence is so excellent a thing that it cannot be carried to too great an extent. In my passion for it I even carry it so far as to totally abstain from total abstinence itself. Oscar Wilde
