Morning Everyone
Why am I here at this time in a morning I have no idea. DS & mate (who I hadn't met before but who is fine and polite) arrived safely, managed words with DS within first two minutes as he does not listen/read and decides he think he know what I said!!  No real fall out though. They enjoyed their chicken dinner, and the dragged us (or Dad's Wallet) (screaming and kicking :rotfl: :rotfl: ) off to the local Irish Bar at 10.30 am. They have live groups each weekend, and last nights was brill. No real life starts around here until around that time, which used to be our bedtime when we were working (if not before). Had a real good time,   and arrived around around 3 am. DH & the boys still snoring, so I have a nice peaceful morning. My head is fine :T
They demolished the rest of the cereal bread stick off with some pate when we got back, so I got two large bread rolls I had just got off the market out of the freezer, we used one of these as a mini loaf. DS says why only two Mum, you need 4 they are tiny! I obviously have forgotten how much young men (23) eat.
Looking at my windows sidebar we are 18 degrees higher than Cheltenham this morning -6 to +12C, but I can guarantee that when I go outside some of the locals will say how cold it is here. So hugs to those of you in the real cold! (but you have the sunshine and we have a very weak one trying to break through the cloud)
Smokey - so please to hear that DH is make slow but steady progress, we'll keep the prayers going for the continuation, but as others have already said, look after yourself too.
HJ - I loved your version of the meet, heaven know what you will make of the mini Yorkshire meet next month - maybe you need to get a train down so we can ensure you don't let Pen-Pen lead us astray!:j :rotfl: :T
Pen-Pin - how did the wedding go? Mrs-M - how's the eyes (and the rest of you?) Hi Math - slipping I see.:rotfl: :rotfl:
Everyone else - HI YA - and (((hugs))) where needed/wanted.
Must go and refill the coffee mug.
Take care DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club

Morning :hello:
Smokey thanks for the update, don't forget to look after you too
Mr tru had an upgrade for his phone yesterday but he likes the one he's already got so he picked one for me. He didn't tell me he'd upgraded, he just said 'I've got you a pressie' and handed me this -
I said 'oooooh an ipod' and he said 'no it's a phone  ' So I tried to slide it open and it wouldn't - it swivels. It's too posh for me, all I want to do when a phone rings is press a button and say 'hello'I started looking up mobiles on the net - aren't phones stupid? When mr tru got his last upgrade, he was asked 'what you like the primary function to be?' He said sarcastically 'I have 2 requirements. I must be able to make a phone call and I must be able to answer the phone when it rings'
IT'S A PHONE, WHAT DO THEY THINK THE 'PRIMARY FUNCTION' SHOULD BE? Loons
We're going to our friend's baby's dedication today then round to mr tru's grandad's house. He's 96, he rang yesterday and said that he'd made us a fruit tart but he can't get it to us so would it be OK if we dropped round to pick it up?
I made some brill cards yesterday (even if I do say so myself lol). I haven't had any inspiration for weeks but it hit yesterday and I went a bit nutsI've had to scribble some ideas down on paper, I went to print some backing papers and the ink's low in the printer so I'll have to get some more today.

Brrrrr - Been a cold one here last night in Shropshire said Minus 8 this morning on Yahoo Weather Brrr.Been a nice week for Mrs B and I we have had our dear friend over from Cyprus and she is here for another week Yippeee! Had shock horror probe moment yesterday when new letter for new rate turned up for mortgage, after 5 years on 4.8% fixed we now have best offer of nearly 6% at nearly 180 more a month!!!
DS has come back for a second weekend but he has found permanent house share now in Liverpool so this is the "Can I have that to take " weekend LOL. Work been good so far this month and DD looks like seeking mortgage soon so all not too bad for Mrs B and I at the moment, hope all have a nice quiet - sunny - and peaceful Sunday!

morning all,
I am sitting up in bed with a cup of tea and the laptop, looking out the window, its beautiful, bright but very frosty.
I have had a word with my DD about her rude friend, DD did not notice that she had not said thank you once, DD's dad took them to pizza hut yesterday for lunch, and I am not sure he got a thank you either, she will have to get some manners before she comes again.
We are going walking today to Kingley vale, which is a local national park, with a huge hill which completely wears me out getting to the top, but the views from the top are spectacular you can see for miles, its well worth the effort, it normally takes 2 - 3 hours for the walk, so its good for my thighs
DD is coming with us, she normally does not like our long walks, but she has said that she wants to get some pictures with her digital camera which I got her for xmas, so the exercice will do her good too.
Will put the meat in before we go, i got a huge piece of pork from sainsbugs, will do us today and tomorrow and probably a curry for next week, will get the veg and pots prepared and will just have to cook them on our return,
Cant remember if it was the Daily Mail or the Express, (never usually get them) but one had a free DVD of catherine cookson in yesterday, so will settle down after dinner and watch that, I think there is one every day this week.
Well I am fancing a bacon sandwich now, thats because crazychick mentioned them, so off to get one and another cuppa.
Have good sundays all.
Hugs to smokey xxx0 -
then round to mr tru's grandad's house. He's 96, he rang yesterday and said that he'd made us a fruit tart but he can't get it to us so would it be OK if we dropped round to pick it up?
My DMIL used to call me at work and say, got anything organised for dinner tonight, usually had something to cook, but it would last another day, so they answer would be nothing special, why. I've just been to the butchers and picked up some nice shin beef and wondered if you'd like to call and have tea, (DH, me and DS) I'll make a nice pie. Her pastry was to die for, and she loved cooking but in later years DFIL did not have agood appetite, and her comment was always, oh I love having you 3 to dinner as I get 3 clean plates. HM pie, mash and fresh veg, well you can't leave anything can you;) . Followed of course by HM fruit pie and HM custard. I still have a tupperware tub of her pastry in my freezer, far out of date now, but somehow cannot throw it out. She was much loved.

Morning all
SMOKEY haven't managed to catch the thread but I understand your OH is improving. Hugs to you and yours through a very difficult time.
MATH I've been slipping a bit recently too, really need to get a grip!
HUGS to anyone who wants one.
It is beautiful here, very cold, frosty and bright, love it when it's like that. OH is still snoring, I just can't do that anymore, once I'm awake that's it. DS is watching Tooatik and building things.
Took DS to see Underdog yesterday after work then went to Chiquito's for tea. Was so tired was asleep by 10. Plan to clear out DS room today, will strip beds in a mo. OH going to work later. Oh I do so love Sundays when I can be at home and not do anything much :T .
No idea what dinner will be, probably sausages, or might get left-over pork out of the freezer and do a mini roast.
Have a lovely day all.

Good morning!
Just a quick pop-in before Church:D Then I want to dash up to the farmer's market. Some of the prices are ridiculous, but there's one stall sells specialist sausages, and she does a deal if you buy 4 packs. They're only there once a month, so it's today or wait another month.
Today I'm cooking a whole duck for the first time. Keep everything crossed for me;) I actually managed to use the search facility to find old threads that deal with this, so I think I'm well prepared. ( Thanks PenPen for that 2 minute lesson on searching, while we were on the escalator at Tottenham Court Road:rotfl: )
Well must dive off. It's beautiful and sunny here, but I'd rather like your temperature too, donny-gal:D I've got to de-ice the car before I can use it:eek:
Lovely to read your post MATH. Backsliding? Good for you;)
CM x
edited to add. Pink I find it's easier just to let Haribo ( and Aussie) live in their own little world:D PenPen and I most certainly did not behave so wantonly:rotfl:You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -
