Not really a tip but anyway have to share this.....Teach your your cat to do tricks by offering his fave titbit and tell him to sit 'gently' pushing on his bum. This does work and all my friends are amazed and i have also taught him to give his paw!

I'll think of a tip for you as soon as one pops in mi head!!

Have just found this thread and its brilliant.....given me loads of ideas

I use babywipes all the time ...great for cleaning the toilet quickly and easily

A small cup of water in the micro for 90secs and the steam caused loosens all the grease ...one quick wipe later and you have a clean micro....add a squirt of lemon juice for a nice smell

after a long hard day at work when there's chores to do and all i really want to do is watch tv , its amazing what i can get done in the advert breaks

card in packs of biscs/cereal packs are great for shopping lists

tv/radio listing mags ...instead buy a sat newspaper and get a free cd or dvd too
We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.

  • I hope you don't flush them down the toilet after you've just cleaned it.!

When making coffee, heat up some milk in the microwave, pour into a plastic milk carton and give it a good shake. Instant cappuccino. £2.50 in a fancy coffee shop,

    Just wanted to bump this..........

I have always been amazed that people spend so much money on coffee machines (sometimes more than one!) when the same results can be achieved so simply. I know, I know, they look great in the kitchen!!

I only drink black coffee, don't need any more than a caffetiere bought at a car boot for 50p, but I'll remember the above trick when I have guests.

    These are great. My contributions:

After you have done the washing up, put a half kettleful of boiling water, a tiny squirt of washing up liquid and a couple of drops of bleach in the washing up bowl then let wash cloth and tea towel soak for a couple of hours. No more slimy germy cloths.

Never chuck coffee grounds, tea leaves, egg shells in the bin. Scatter them on the garden instead. (crush the egg shells first) Free soil conditioner.

    Plastic milk bottles:
Cut off the bottom - funnel
Cut a bit off the top but leave the handle - bird feeder
Cut in half and throw away the top bit - paint brush soaker, used tea bag holder, mini rubbish bin? - no, that's going too far ;)

Keep vitamin tubs or baby food jars for storing small items like screws or buttons.

    Dusters????

I use flanellette cot sheets that are no longer in use. I'm sure they are easy enough to find in charity shops or else in the sales. And the color really does not run out.

    .

    Dusters????
I use DH underpants the other day! :rotfl:

Oh yes, dusting: I pick up a duster in the morning and carry it around with me. It becomes a habit then to dust surfaces, light switches etc as I go, then it's not really a chore.

Try to set a timer when settling down to read MSE as time just seems to whizz past whenever I come on here, and nothing gets done. ;)
