SnowyOwl wrote:When I do my laundry I always remove it from the washing machine as soon as the cycle is finished - this avoids creases getting too stubborn. I put all garments (except u/wear & socks) onto hangars, and then hang the hangars on the line, fastened by clothes pegs if necessary. This also helps clothes become easier to iron and avoids peg marks...some items can even be left unironed and be put straight into the wardrobe. Putting things on hangars first also allows more washing to go onto the line so you can make the most of a sunny day. Urm, you did say obvious tips Calley, are these obvious enough?
I do this too, but I peg my socks onto wire hangers, then hang them on the line like that. It is so easy to take them in quickly if it rains, (and it saves space on the line). And is so easy to find the matching pairs. Also, Lakeland sell clips for fixing hangers on the line. They hold better than clothespegs, (no more socks in the mud), and last well.

That is a brilliant tip Marlee,I have loads and loads of socks to peg out.It would work with kid's pants as well.Thank you :A0 -
Nobody's mentioned this yet but does anybody do their ironing straight from the washing machine???
(I mean wet)
I suppose it depends on what time people have but I normally do two loads on a Sunday and as soon as the first one is done, I put the second load in and start ironing the first load.
I would NEVER, EVER, EVER iron dry ever again!
Just think - you spend all that time (and expense if 'tumbling') getting it dry - only to start forcing water back into it with your steam iron to get the creases out!!!
Admittedly, I do end up with all of the ironing hung up around the front room, but normally, by the following day, it's all dry and can be put away.Dogs have owners, CATS have STAFF...0 -

keep a tin in your kitchen drawer to keep reciepts in, its amazing how often you may need to take something back!"It is not uncommon for slight acquaintances to get married, but a couple really have to know each other to get divorced." - Anonymous0

school uniform. my son used to split his trousers every six weeks or so, and i always took them back and had a replacement. (woolies ladybird.) grey school jumpers from tesco go bobbled after 6/8 weeks, so again i take them back, get a refund, and buy another one, (so you get another receipt), take that back, due now to take the current one back, and when that one gets bobbled, it too will go back, but by then he won't need another, so free jumpers all winter!"It is not uncommon for slight acquaintances to get married, but a couple really have to know each other to get divorced." - Anonymous0
