Been in and out most of the day. This morning we went and collected some perspex for cold frames from a freecycler and then dropped it off at the allotment.

I had left the nets soaking in the bath............my god were they dirty!!! took them down and out them in the washer for a quick swill, they are now dry, I hung them on the rad airers in the sitting room.

This afternoon I went to see my friend who has just had a knee replacement, she is doing very well considering that she only had her op 10 days ago, but the bruises are something else..............

The mad mo saga is getting worse, but I am so cross about the attitude of the SHO who was on duty today I have decided to divorce myself from the whole situation and just let them get on with it.............food being left overnight in the communal sitting room is not acceptable, we had problems with mice in one of the apartments last year.............residents keep complaining to me, but I have had enough they can complain to someone else.....................

Having problems with my laptop, I bought it last March and its had to be repaired twice, now the 'mouse' is not working properly, it does not seem to be contacting as it should..........will not be buying another acer when I buy my OH a new laptop. I understood they were good.......but my experience shows otherwise.

I am feeling really grumpy tonight, OH is taking me for granted and expects me to do things for him he can well do for himself, I seem to have inherited a 75year old child!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am off, might open a bottle of something see if that makes me feel any better..................

    Cheers

Everyone's probably tucked up in bed by now except CM whose playing with her soldiers. :D Glad you had a great time.
Smokeybabe I hope things continue to be positive.

I've only skimmed the thread today. :o Our power has been off since tea last night. Luckily we'd just eaten it. So we had an early night in bed. ;):D Bad storms have battering QLD. There are a few cities that are flooded. Where YS lives they had 1 m of water in 24 hours. Further up north are all disaster areas. We've had rain & bad wind (thanks to Haribo :p) down this way.

I"ll come back later during the day to read the thread properly. Have a good night sleep eveyone. Byeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Hi guys,

Hubby has had a settled day. He remains sedated as he became agitated pretty quickly last night and this upsets oxygeon levels and blood pressure. He must be only lightly sedated as he opened his eyes earlier and looked around before popping off again.

They have said that he will have a tracheotomy (sp?) on Monday and that this is a standard procedure after some time on the ventilater - much kinder on OH I believe and when he does wake up he will at least be able to mouth some words.

So, he is still making progress albeit small steps forward but much better than in the other direction.

Thank you for the pm's, prayers and good wishes - Someone out there is looking out for him and I pray they continnue to do so.

    Smoky.

  • Oh Smoky - I have been out of the loop but know what a difficult time you are having. Love and hugs to you, DH and the rest of your family.

Well, been quite poorly with D&V plus cystitus! Was meant to have the boys this weekend but every 15 min to the loo too much to handle. DH is due to go away Tuesday for 4 weeks for his hobby holiday - a rest for me - maybe not! Well Kitchen main part should be done by time he comes home.

Love and hugs to you all - sorry not read much recently

  • smokybabe, that's good that DH is still making progress. Little steps will be the way forward. Hope you are managing some rest and recuperation for you.

    Take care, CM xx

smokeybabe, glad to hear he's making progress albeit slow.
the tracheosotomy is standard if people are ventilated for longer periods of time. it makes it much easier to get them off the ventilator too. the weaning process is much easier when you can plug them in and out as it were. much more comfortable for the patient too, and as you say he will find it easier to mouth words and communicate.
