Daily 16th February

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 16th February 2008. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Go on shoot me, I haven't been to bed:rotfl: I'm too excited!!! I'm meeting Penny Penguin for lunch today:j :j :j :j Bet I won't have that much energy later:o We're meeting at the British Museum and I can hardly wait:D
DH thinks I'm totally mad, what's new? He knew when he married me;)
I won't be doing any OS. I won't be doing any H/W. I'm not cooking. I'm just having a fun time:D BM and PenPen here I come:rotfl: Hope all of you enjoy your Saturday as much as I know I will enjoy mine:D

Good morning CM - i hope you and Pen Pen have a lovely day!!!
Well, ive been up for about 1 1/2 hours now, after DD decided to projectile vomit all over the landing. After taking over an hour to clean up, im wide awake so im here with a cuppa.
She had been to a party yesterday, so i think too much party food and sweets are the cause .
Yesterday i went to unload the DW, and found it full of water still, so after getting all the water out with a bowl, cleaning the filtres and giving it a once over, tried to start it, but nothing happening - so really not a happy bunny at the moment. Im now sat here waiting for disaster number 3!!!
Nothing planned for today, luckily no football for DS - loads of washing to do, will wash my bedding once DD gets up, i know she wasnt sick there, but i was going to do them on Sunday, so will feel happier knowing its clean later. Also need to get the BM on, and after this mornings insident, loads more cleaning to do - mind you, my doors and walls havnt been so clean upstairs for years, so i can get some good out of all this!!
Will be back later, if im not asleep (i never sleep, what am i thinking!!)
Ivyleaf - have a lovely holiday - wave to me as you drive over the Tamar bridge!!!
Have a lovely day,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Oh, i think i know what prob number 3 could be - wore some boots yesterday that i hadnt worn for ages, and one of them has given me a huge blister on the bottom of my foot (it really hurts, even when sitting down!!) - hopefully thats it, and all will be well now!!!0

Morning Churchmouse, catowen and all who follow.
It`s still pitch black up here and won`t start to even think about getting light for at least another hour so i may just [strike]lounge[/strike] browse on here for a while.
DH is awake but woke before me so he has a cuppa and i don`t - i hope i get one soon.
Not a great deal planned today, we have to take a rellie to the shopping centre and i need to get the upstairs blitzed but thats about all.
Have a great day out Churchmouse!
((((hugs)))) for everyone who need them today.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
Morning Churchmouse, Catowen and all who cross and follow.
I didn't get much sleep either, went to see Cloverfield at the cinema and was revved up when I got back. Very good film, will probably get a few awards. OH wasn't so keen though, he's more into Star Trek:rolleyes: .
Catowen hope your DD is better soon.
Churchmouse, have a lovely day with PenPen.
Am off to work in a minute, got up to find psycho cat had been sick all over the carpet and it had been there for some time.
It's half-term here. We are taking DS to see Underdog when I get back from work and then having dinner out. Am so glad I can have a lie-in over the next few days.
Haven't managed to read the rest of the thread. Hugs to all who need one.
Have a good day all.

Morning all. CHURCHMOUSE and PENPEN - have the most fantastic time today!
SMOKY - thinking of you and your family.
CATOWEN - hope the rest of your day is better than it began!
Busy day yesterday; DH was not working because he has a new contract which doesn't start till Monday so I did my food shopping while he changed the sheets, hoovered and cleaned upstairs and downstairs! It was such a treat - I couldn't stop smiling when I was mooching around my favourite wool shop. I told the ladies in there that my DH was doing my cleaning while I was swanning around the shops (and taking my time, of course!) and they were most impressed! I wonder if I could arrange it for every Friday?! In the afternoon we visited our ex-neighbours in their new house and had a lovely warm and friendly time drinking loads of tea and admiring their house. They are such good friends and, although they have only moved about ten minutes away, we have missed them being so close.
Well, today I'm baking and I'm going to see what I can make as substitutes for chocolate bars; I cannot believe how much food has gone up in the supermarkets. I'm sure last week I paid 79p for six Blue Ribands and the same for six Breakaways and yesterday they had gone up to 99p. DH usually takes one in his lunchbox but he said he'd do without from now on. So, I shall be trawling the indexed collections later. It makes me laugh when they try and convince us that inflation is under 3% - whoever decided that does not do any food shopping, or buy petrol or pay any bills!
Enough moaning. Rant over until the next time I hit the supermarket.
I hope everyone has a great Saturday.
See you all later.

Good Morning All
CM & PP - enjoy your meet.
Catowen - hope your day improves! & DD feels better soon.
Havnt a great day planned today. Need to drop DS at football managers house at 8.20 so he can take him to footie training, then taking OH to Dental Surgery which is 45 mins away along the A12 (which is not my favourite motorway). He his having a sedative to have 3 fillings and a tooth out and his jaw needs to be cut. Hoping it doesnt take too long as need to leave DD & her friend here. OH has terrible teeth which does way back to his mother giving him a dinky bottle filled with sugary squash when he was a baby. Also they arnt great on dental hygiene & fil is proud to have only 1 tooth left.
My Dad & Stepmom are coming over later and want to go out for lunch but dont think that will be possible.
Not sure about dinner, wont bother doing Shepherds Pie if OH not up to eating so will see later.
Best be off now - need to jump in the bath.
Have a lovely Saturday.

Morning everyone
had a lovely visit to dd18's last night - big surprise as dd22 was there as well and I've not seen her for a couple of weeks. dgs3 been such a good boy that I bought him a macca-pacca - dd18 not happy cos it sings. I got a bit of a shock seeing him - his hair is all cut short and he has a star shaved in. It will take ages for his curls to grow back
exoh stayed overnight - hence me not coming home till late - it's supposed to be a Daddy Weekend but dd11 is picking up new glasses this morning. Don't know what they're doing after that but hopefully going somwhere for a couple of days as I need to do some major flyladying and plan monday's trip. I got tickets for the tutankhamun (sp?) exhibition but not till 7pm so we eed to fill the rest of the day - might get an all day ticket for the boats or something like that
smokey - hugs - please try to look after yourself as well as everyone else at this awful time
have a good day everyoneI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -
Morning everyone
Up a little earlier today. DS (and mate) arrives today for 8 days holiday.:j :j . It will be lovely to see him again, and with a prevailing wind we may even find time to talk. It's not that we don't talk we do via emails/mesenger most days, but it is not he same and the phone calls do not work the same as face to face for more serious topics, housing, job, money, etc. But at the same time this is where chaos reigns from here on. Need to take our belongings out of the second bedroom, which we use as a spare room when no one else here, and have a swift clean through. I've paperwork all over the dining table so will be seriously in the dog house with DH if I dont sort that. (my tidy DH). May get to the market for some fresh veg., but knowing DS, he would like to eat out as much as we can. He loves trying new and different places, I have a few lined up.
Thanks for the update Smokey - will keep our thoughts and prayers with you for more small improvements. ((hugs))
Enjoy your wedding Pen-Pin. Enjoy your special meet CM & Pen-Pen.
Better go and get a wiggle on - (((((((((((hugs))))))))))) to those who'd like/need one. and HiYa to all.
Take care - DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club

Morning :hello:
Smokey
I have lateral epicondylitis. Sounds awful doesn't it - actually it's tennis elbowI've just googled it to get the proper name so I'd sound clever :rotfl: It hurts so much, I can't even pick up an empty mug  Luckily it's in my left arm and I'm right-handed.
We were at FIL's for hours yesterday. It didn't take too long to empty the lorry but then I thought 'oh he won't even be able to make a cuppa' so I sorted out kettle, mugs etc. Next thing I knew, I'd sorted the whole kitchen while mr tru put the beds together and made them up. Couldn't find the fitted sheets for the double bed though so we covered the mattress with a quilt cover :rolleyes:We just kept going til it was all done, we hadn't eaten and still had to go shopping. Finally ate at 8.30 last night. I'm defo not doing any housework today
The phone will be unplugged today, I don't want to talk to anyone. People are soooooo annoyingBulletproof0
