Sorry I never noticed this when I was replying before.

I agree with April, it must be a lie as it is not mentioned anywhere on their website especially as they don't even do line rental yet. He is trying to get you on to their line rental as well as he is probably on commission as well.

It appears that CPW employees are under tremendous pressure to sell TalkTalk to us - read this article for more info.

I believe the above article highlights the pressure of those working on commission. It also appears that they can be sacked for not making enough sales.

That's where I know I couldn't do the job as I couldn't lie to someone just to sell something to make commission and so as not to lose my job. In my opinion, it's not worth the hassle at all. lol.

I was talking to the manager of my local CPW today, and he said that they he had heard that the reason that line rental had been put back, was it did not offer enough savings against BT.So they were waiting for BT to annouce its pending line rental increase.

Isn't that going to be 50p?

As if that's going to turn the deal!
Their - possessive pronoun (owned by them e.g. "They locked their car").
    They're - colloquial/abbreviated version of 'They are'
There - noun (location other than here e.g. "You can buy groceries there") OR adverb (in or at that place e.g. "They have lived there for years") OR adverb (to or towards that place e.g. "Go there at noon") OR adverb (in that matter e.g. " I agree with you there").

Yes, but they (BT) under OfCOM rules are having to reduce the cost of WLR (Wholesale Line Rental) they charge to OneTel, PO, etc. They are are decreasing by 50p. That together with the 50p increase us customers are getting would make it £1. They are already 50p cheaper anyhow (going by OneTel anyhow). Therefore, in theory they could do £1.50 per month cheaper than BT depending on if these WLR providers want to pass the savings back to us, or pocket it.

PF started a thread here about this price increase and the WLR decrease by 50p.

As mentioned in another post, that is why I think BT have announced free caller display. For those that have caller display we would still be saving and therefore more likely to stay with BT. That is until (eventually) other providers start offering free caller display.

    Every little helps ;)

Apart from the points mentioned by BBB_Uk above. One of the stronger selling points will be that TT will be able to offer a one bill/one dd solution to its Talk Talk customers.People like this.It gets over one of the reasons people would not leave BT in the first place.

I called Talk Talk this morning as my Talk 2 free offer is about the expire on 4th August. She would not budge on giving me a free extension even though I said I was considering switching. (I don't really want to switch as my calling circle are mainly Talk Talk so are free calls anyway, just make the odd out of circle call)

Might try again later. Wondering if they say it again whether to switch to the Talk 3 tariff for three months then revert back again after that to Talk 1. What do you think?

I think you will find that the Talk3,free for 3 months offer,is only available to new customers.

They did offer it to someone - it was posted somewhere else; I know not where :o

When I asked about it they actually suggested I switch away from TalkTalk and then switch back for the 3 month offer... :)

    Hi all
I was actually going to sign up for the Talk3 package with Talktalk yesterday but got a bit worried about the bit that said they would automatially sign you up as a Talktalk Plus customer. From the t&cs attached to this, I thought it sounded a bit like they would take over your line rental when the service was available.

    http://www.talktalk.co.uk/talktalk/servlet/gben-voice-PageServer?ARTICLE=MAIN.UK.TALKTALK.VOICE.TALKTALKPLUS.TNC

(sorry, I don't know how to do the hyperlink thing!)

The t&cs do talk about choosing to switch over your line rental to Talktalk, but I was worried that the fact you were automatically registered as Talktalk Plus (which I understand means CPS + Line rental from then) customer meant you wouldn't have a choice in the matter.

    How do others interpret this?
