Talk2 price match

For anyone who signed up with Talk talk ,Talk 2 this time last year (free for a year), I just phoned them to cancel and say that I was changing to Tele 2, (they're offering the same deal free till the end of the year),they offered another year's free Talk 2 service. Definitely worth a phone call, as I've had no problems with them at all.

    Thanks.

That's not a bad idea for those on TalkTalk and their free evening & weekend has (or is about to) finish.

Glad to hear that Jazzy, though with an average phone bill from TalkTalk of 20p a month I do wonder that they won't be that bothered about keeping me come September ;)

You don't know until you try.

Though with only spending 20p they may think its cheaper for them if you actually moved over to Tele2. It all depends on who you get and what mood they are in and more importingly whether they look into your account fully and discover the huge 20p bill you have managed to accumulate. lol :rotfl:

For sure I will be trying Kev as due to the free calls to other TalkTalk users I will probably be staying with them ;)

I tried to talk to them about this but was told that "they don't do Talk2 anymore"

Apparently there is no way I can get any more free calls, and she even suggested that to take advantage of the 3 months free Talk3, which isn't available to existing customers, I leave talktalk and then rejoin!

Probably switching to Tele2 as there is no 70 minute restriction :D

Talk 2 is still available on the website. I said I wanted to cancel before they offered Talk2 free for another year. I would phone Talktalk again to cancel and then see what they offer you. They didn't check my billing history. If they had they would have realised that they make very little out of me.

CrazyChemist, I agree with Jazzy_B. Ring again and see what they say but don't specifically ask to have it for free but just mention that Tele2 are offering free evening&weekend for free and therefore can you cancel with them (TalkTalk) because you are moving to Tele2.

    See what they say again?

If they say the same then, like you said, just move to Tele2 anyhow. At least they don't have a call length restriction like TalkTalk.

I will and I hope I get through to a non-nutter this time. I guess I'll have to say goodbye to the free USA calls then? :o Well, it's worth it if I don't have to pay a monthly fee for it!

I actually sent TalkTalk an email to enquire about when my package was expiring and got this back from them:
    Thank you for your email.

The Talk Talk service you have registered to will be finishing in December 2005, unfortunately we are unable to remove the 70 minute call limit as this is one of the immovable stipulations of the Talk Talk service.

I would recommend that you call our customer service team on the telephone number provided below and speak to our options team as they may be able to offer you a package you find agreeable.

If you need any more help, please email customerservices@talktalk.co.uk or call our Customer Service team on 0870 444 1820.

On this basis, as I have it in writing, couldn't I allow it to run after 31st August and when they start charging me, kick up a fuss about being told two different things? :p

I would imagine they are quite happy to upgrade an existing customer to TalkTalk3 as that way they will get considerably more money from those of us who have had free evenings and w/end calls for the past year.

I will probably go onto the free w/end calls and use 18866 in the evenings as well as daytime as this will work out cheaper than TalkTalk3 even with the free three months. That way I will still be able to use the free calls to other TalkTalk users ;)
