"ok search for xy...... hmmm I'd have thought somebody would have posted xy......... wait a minute I'm sure I'VE posted xy before. Has my post been deleted I wonder. Will try more general x, ....well that's odd. Well I'll try generic "a word"....... looks like search forum seems to be broken. Hope it's not just me. Will check site feedback board."

Yep. Almost to the letter the process I went through. :D

It's probably going to be down all weekend unfortunately. We've had new servers fitted in the last day or so to help with the capacity issues, but the search has had to go off as part of the integration

OK. At least we know not to keep trying. :)

That was the option I defaulted back to as well. The Google cache of the site can be surprisingly up-to-date.

    Same for me as well...

"Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms."

This is searching for common terms like "ebay" and "amazon" too.

So frustrating, MSE is huge so if you want something specific..?

Hope it can be fixed soon - is someone in MSE towers on overtime fixing it? :D

I am having the same problem. The search isn't finding anything.

Did I miss the obvious announcement that the search function would be unavailable while the server upgrade was done????

I read somewhere else on the Forum that the server is being updated this weekend, so the search isn't working.

You can go onto Google and do a search direct from there, I've used it a couple of times today so know it works that way even if it takes a little longer.
