Goodness, what have I started, with my refusal to eat Aspartame!
Splenda is also not a very nice substance I am afraid, I read a long article in The Ecologist a few months ago, let me see if I can find it and will post the link here.
Here it is, sorry more bad news about sweeteners:

Meanwhile, I am stuffing my face with fruit and so avoiding all the sugar products (except for the odd nice and creamy yogurt and counting it in).
Breakfast: toasted oats, chopped banana, 2 dried apricots, 2 prunes, soya milk
Lunch: pasta with garlic mushrooms (frylight) and parmesan, green and tomato salad with a little oil, 1 pear
Snack: 3 tangerines, 1 blood orange, 1 Activia full fat yogurt
Dinner: prob. veg casserole and rice or some other grain, and either another yogurt or more fruit.
Good night all,

im gutted, just attempted to make some falafels as i really enjoyed the ones i got from Cauldron, so i got recipe from Ainsley harriott, tried it, and they have come out horrid, it needed something to bind it as it would not stick together and i did not want to deep fry them. anyhow i persevered, added a touch of water and sprayed them with frylight, popped them in the oven til golden brown, and as soon as i took the tray out, they all collapsed!!!!!!
i wont waste them, will just mix em with cous cous but im gutted!!!! will have to look for a different recipe
TTFN
Try to bind them with a little chick pea flour, or a bit of egg white? Or mashed potato? I will follow your progress with interest because I also do not want to fry in oil if I can help it and I love felafel!

Ahh if you are doing SW, why don't you bind with polenta then instead of flour, polenta is free!
Thanks for the recipe, am looking at it now! LOoks lovely but the amount of oil is SCARY!!! Gotta find a way to do them baked, definitely!

i dont do SW, have tried, but the minute i go on it, i cant face any of the foods on it. same with WW, it just doesnt work for me as i do a lot of walking that i just cant manage it on the amount of 'points' they give you, it worked out i was eating at least 600 cals less a day than recommended for the amount of walking i do combined with the weight i wanted to lose (i use fitbug.com) so i was always starving to the point i felt dizzy
i know what you mean about the oil, its ridiculous! i also read that in the mcdonalds in egypt, you can actually buy a McFalafel!! although i aint sure if thats just a wind up!!!

i have developed a craving for 4 digestive biscuits with 2 spread with dairylea cheese spread and sandwiched together. bit like 2 sandwiches, they taste lovely and am having them for either breakfast or lunch. so easy to transport and not hugely expensive but are they really bad in comparison to what others are having for lunch orbreakfast ie bowl or cereal with juice or ham roll with fruit? am thinking they are a better divertion tactics to my usual scrabble around in biscuit cupboard or even worse a bar of chocolate. but what do you think?0

Had granola and yogurt for breakfast, nothing much for lunch...25g dark choc...
dinner was the end of last night's lamb casserole, was like soup really. A rice cake. A small piece of carrot cake"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"
