Not a happy lady this afternoon…we are still fighting to get the correct amount for OH’s annuity.
They told us on the phone today that the Tax number was wrong, they had spoken to the tax office…..we spoke to the tax office and the number is correct………what I fail to understand is how they can get two different answers from the same office????? We were informed that we were due a payment of £39 and tax would be taken off that too!!!!!!!!! I worked out and even the tax amount is wrong!!!!!!!!!! I really do not think they know what they are doing or how to operate the computers….we have written to the complaints Department and also the Ombudsman……..I sent a letter with all the relevant documentation to both, had a reply from the ombudsman, but nowt from the insurance company.
Coffee morning, everyone was going on about our new resident, she has upset a lot of people in the short time she has been here. Even the cleaner………..who offered to leave the cleaning cupboard open and she would sit and have a cuppa and a fag whilst mad mo did her job for her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We went out for our walk, it was nice in the sun………….lunch bread, cheese salad and an apple, supper tonight chicken in yogurt sauce with lemon and coriander cous cous……….and crème caramel……..
No sewing this afternoon, I am tired, might have a bit of a snooze in a mo .oh has a new puzzle out its keeping him quiet.

Afternoon!
Lovely sunny day here.:D
JackieO You are so inspiring. The things you go through and you never seem to complain or moan.
Lilmisskitkat Well done to your dd, no wonder you're so proud of her!
LearningTo Save You could always phone up the school and ask their opinion. I teach very young children (nurs/rec) and it's so much better if children stay at home as infections etc are spread so quickly.
Well DH arrived home safely from Poland looking a bit rough!:rotfl: It's so nice to have him home and he's opened up his presents, cards etc. We're having a lazy day here at the moment and I'm enjoying it.:D
We seem to be going through a bagel phase at the moment, the kids can't get enough of them...plain ones with jam for breakfast and onion savoury ones for lunch. Are they easy to make as I seem to be buying so many packets at the moment? Must do a search for a recipe.
Tonight's tea will be jacket potatoes, veg and something from the depths of the freezer.
Tomorrow we're going to get the house ready for our weekend visitors and if the weather stays nice we'll go on a bike ride.
Have a great day!0 -
LTS - just looked in my 'spotty book' (advice for schools, childminders and nurserys etc) and it says - Incubation period 2 - 3 days, infectious whilst active infection, absence from school, play groups etc whilst eye inflamed and painful.
I remember one of mine having it years ago, and the school were happy to have him back after he had been using the eye drops for 24 hours!!!0 -
Afternoon all, have now caught up with yesterdays and todays thread.
Good luck on your weigh in taplady and well done on yours charliesmum
Made another traybake last night, put in choc chips and raisins. Put lemon juice in the sponge mixture instead of vanilla extract for a change its nice. Didnt have time for icing and stuff on the top - it was only just out of the oven and being sliced up for pudding:rotfl: There was a time that I could make a traybake last at least four days, now i'm lucky if it lasts more than two:A
Pasta for dinner tonight, got some hm pasta sauce out of freezer last night and then out to my sewing club tonight. Need to pop into sainsburys on the way home from club to pick up some essentials that we've nearly ran out of like toilet roll and soap.

REDRUBY - your reggae sauce sounds intriguing. Please let me know what it is!Kathy, voila,
not home made at all, but available in all good supermarkets, it won backing by the dragons on dragons den, and is lovvvverly, quite spicey, nice with chops rice and peas.
(see aussie, I can't be a domestic goddess all the time)
LTS I would keep your DD off too, My daughter picked up conjunctuivitis from a school friend, who had it terribly in both eyes, but did not want to ruin her 100% attendance record  , half the class went down with it.
Jackieo, glad all went well, can I have some chocolate
LilmisskitkatWell done to your dd, :A

Afternoon all,
Just caught with yesterday and to-day's thread...seem not to be on here later atm...trying to get to bed early to-night as will have 3 grandchildren to-morrow and Friday, the boys are both on two days mid-term break so there will be mayhem as the 3 year old grand-daughter winds them up non-stop...no sign yet of small brother or sister to take her mind off tormenting them,,,due 5th but no sign yet, DD is not known for her patience and I would be climbing the walls, but she reckons that she can wait another week or so if necessary,
Very cold here now, the day has been lovely, as have Monday and Tuesday...think that we might get to-morrow out of the fine weather, it is really cheering to see such blue skies and sun.
Welcome to newbies and hugs to all who need one...or two
