  • Morning Guys,

After my very productive day off yesterday (bathroom, bedroom and kitchen completely gutted out and cleaned) I am back to work (for a rest!)

JackieO - good luck for today.

Churchmouse - I think you might be right about the butter & Syprup being too hot, I used butter straight from the fridge and it took ages to melt completely so I think the rest got too hot. I will make them again this weekend, just need to get more coconut!

Hilstep just wanted to say my thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time, I am not sure what time the funeral is tomorrow so wanted to let you know today that I will be thinking of you. Huge hugs to you and your family.:grouphug:

Haribo - nice to see you posting again, I trust the infection has cleared up and you are fit and raring to go!:T

Jayward - I am glad you finally found out what is wrong, hugs to you and hope the medication starts working soon.

Hello to all the newbies, as a fairly recent newbie I can vouch that everyone on this board is lovely (if slightly mad!!):hello:

Hugs to those in need, have a terrific Tuesday everyone.

    Suesy Sue xxxxx

Ruby Well aren't we the little domestic goddess. :p:D

Cat I'm not sure what series we are up to. He picked the ones he wanted to keep on tonight. He kept 3 of them. Guess which one got the boot? :D

Haribo My anniversary isn't until Sept. Wow........a iron, great suggestion. Not. :D

    Granny
Every name they choose is special. I taught my niece to say Chasy is a baby referring to my dad (her grandfather). His name was Charles but Mum always called him Chas. She called him Chasy Baby :D & the name stuck, all the grandkids called him that from then on. I was about 11 when she started talking.

Well I'm off to bed. Hope you all have a great day what's left of it. Byeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

HI there - just sat down with a coffee. Was meant to go to the gym but the postie has been and brought two letters that have made me hopping mad and I have to get my responses typed up before I lose the anger! Both letters are about matters that are not our fault. HMRC have slapped £100 fine on us because they say we didn't file DH's CIS form by 19th January - I posted it on 7th Jan! Fortunately, I get proof of posting for everything I post these days because so many people make mistakes, so I shall copy that and fire it off with a letter. The second letter is from Abbey National; we found out that for the last four months, they have been deducting £6.95 a month for an insurance that we haven't taken out. We asked them to refund the money to our account but, of course, it's not as simple as that, is it? We've just received a 14 question form to complete listing our complaint (it wasn't a complaint, actually, we just asked for our money back) and asking all sorts of other impertinent questions and they want us to send them the policy - which doesn't exist! We've never signed for one and never received one. Now, I'm going to have to spend an hour photocopying and highlighting bits of paper and typing letters to go with them and it feels like I'm always having to do someone else's job for them. I'm going to tell them both that I'm self-employed and I will be invoicing them for my time. It worked with BT and I made them pay me. Anyway, rant over - but I'm SOOO cross! As you can probably tell!

MRS MIX - (((Hugs))) to you.

    SAXY - welcome to you.

REDRUBY - your reggae sauce sounds intriguing. Please let me know what it is!

PENPIN - (((Hugs))) to you. Hope you feel better soon.

Well, after a freezing cold start, it's beautiful here now. I really hope it lasts for the weekend so everyone can make the most of it.

Well, off to type my angry letters.

    See you all later.

not much else to report see you later
    pam xx
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was going to blame you

I am one of the English sexy Shelias
    I'm also a hussy
  • ahhh mrs mix you have my sympathies.......we also had to go to the doctors this morning with conjunctivitis and came away with eye drops.

i have a dilema........my dd1 is 5 years old,i kept her off school today as had doctors, when doctor said conjunctuivitis i asked about school and she was all ooo yeah she can still go.
now i dont feel easy with this as i know how contagious it is and how 5 year olds are at touching things etc.....my instincts say to keep her home tomorrow and fri and then it is half term anyway.i also asked the pharmacists advice when i got our meds and she was suprised and said they normally advise keeping children home.
    what would you all do?

os wise not much going on.......bm on for hm pizza dough and soup made....towels out drying on the line as it is a nice day.

    Afternoon All
Tackled my ironing mountain this morning, set up cheap rate phone home calls direct from landline, and it gives me an 0844 no. for calls from UK to here, personally think 18866 is cheaper, but some folk don't listen, sorted through newspapers (get loads of free ones here for recipes and spainsh tips)then just had pate and cheese and crackers for lunch. Dentist check up at tea time. Not had one done over here before!
Chalky - wondered where you had got to. We seem to be going in different directions, as we go back at the end of the month and are due out again mid-Mayish. We are taking our holidays inbetween. lol. Are you finding that time is running away with you too?
Although we are warmer, you are brighter today we have an overcast day with light rain forecast.
Seems loads of ((((hugs)))) are needed at the moment, so feel free to grab one. Pen-Pen enjoy your break, we have 35 years in November. I would have been out twice by now.

We had to keep our kid off with conjunctivitis LTS. I agree with your logic, no Mum will thank you for their kids having it during half term.

Better go and put the ironing on the bed away.
    Take care - DG

  • Hi ya chums I'm back and still alive and kicking. It went surprisingly well, and I had quite a dishy Doctor as well so that was a bonus.
