    Hi Del....

How strange is it that since your posting, I havent spent a single penny, nor had any real burning desire to do so!

    You're my magic cure...

Loving the idea for "I DO NOT need that DVD", Supporters club for the eager minded yet weak willed? Count me in as a member... we can kick each others !!! when we start piping up about "how hard we've been working" etc etc, and our answer will be.... You do not NEED that DVD! LOL

Tough love all the way LOL

Hi, don't mean to seem thick, but what is a SOA and how do I do this? Will this be available for all to see?

I know £70 still seems a lot on groceries, last year I rarely spent under £100/wk. I have 2 children aged 12 & 9. The 9 yr old is a very fussy eater, told by Dr's to ride this out. Admit he eats too much junk food ie crisps & bisc but that is better than not eating at all. During last fortnight we have also discovered he has multiple allergies so am reluctant to restrict him anyway.

Might sound as if i'm in control, just wish I earnt more, but don't we all. LOL

Tomorrow is day off but I've just spent half an hour writing myself a list of things to keep myself amused, and best of all spend free!:D

A SOA is statement of affairs, which lists a.) all your incomings / months and b.) all your outgoings. Something like this:

    Incomings:
    Salary £1300
    Partners sal: £1200
    Benefits: £32
    Total per month: £2532

    Outgoings:

    Mortgage/Rent:
    Tv:
    Broadbank:
    Phone:
    Gas:

etc etc... listing EVERYTHING! If you do this, and post it as a new thread, all the experts on the board will be coming to help you out with tips and tricks.

Write down everything, be honest and a few hours after your posting you will have tons of tips as to how to make it better :) good luck!

Thanks for coming in :) May I ask how much money (debt) you went bankrupt with? I don't know much about bankruptcy.

Your point is totally true. I already see money as more precious and I know that once I am out of debt, I will watch what I spend.

    Hey there,

    Sorry for the late reply...

I went bankrupt for 45k, plus a probable 7k tax as I was self-employed.. so probably £52,000... :o I think you can do it for as little as £700 tho...

    I updated too!

But I forgot my nerd number, how do I find it? I did have one!!!!
Good for you for the day off, I wish I had one off...

enjoy the day and don't spend (a lot) remember you don't NEED that.... :T

For me, it's going to be diet cokes (can of six for £2.65 tesco) which will be enough for next week (I bring it to the office in lunchtime). and maybe a chunky cheese roll for 21p from tesco.
