Fingers crossed for you Sira. My buyers kept me waiting ages before they exchanged and only did it when I threatened to take the house off sale. Dont be too worried about your buyers saying they will pull out...nobody wants to have to start from scratch with house hunting and surveys etc. Keep us posted, Good Luck hun.

Thanks for all the positive replies but sadly it all went very wrong today and not only did we not exchange we're not completing tomorrow either!! I sit here all packed, sold my cooker, notified gas/electric/telephone etc removal man booked at it's not happening!!!!!!!!!!! At this point of my life i wonder what it is ive done so bad, can my luck not change just a little for the better?!! My buyers buyer who has given me stress all the way thru this said his buyer was a cash buyer but he's not he needs a mortgage and hasn't got his offer yet!! What i am so annoyed about is how has he been missed in the chain with regard to completing tomorrow surely someone would have informed them of the moving date, obviously not!! I dont know whether to laught, cry or burn my house down in angerjust can't believe it!! If we dont complete by Tuesday then my removal man can't move us as he goes on holiday. Have spend the day calling Solicitors who never ring me back and when i do get hold of them say they are waiting to hear back from other solicitors so i'm none the wiser as to when and if we will finally move!!!!

Oh hon, I've just read this entire thread-you've really been through the mill, haven't you? I had my fingers crossed for you and then read your most recent post-I can't believe that your buyers buyer has messed you around so much.

Hmm, I don't think burning the house down, satisfying though it would be, is the best plan for you-I think I would certainly be looking for the nearest bottle of wine and a corkscrew about now. Just keep chasing the solicitors and the estate agents, and I am sure it will work out, but I am so sorry that you've had to go through all this...thinking of you x

Thanks for holding me in your thoughts Van, you are all so lovely and reassuring. Still not news on the house front, still waiting for the bottom of the chain to get sorted. Been told lenders are taking ages with mortgages at the moment with the state lending is in. We're living out of boxes still!! Took kids to see house last week, didn't go down too well. Son has a very small bedroom but the promise of a flat screen tv helped!! Have to say it all did look alot smaller now it's empty and i have had so many doubts this week that we're doing the right thing. Daughter doesn't want to move at all. It is going to be such a big change for us all but i keep trying to look on the positives, a small house less to decorate, easier to make look nice. Keep telling them when we've got our own stuff in it will look so much nicer, don't know if i'm trying to convince them or myself. Now got another debt to add to my long list, bill has come for the HIPS £500 was hoping we would have sold before that was due, well i haven't got the money so don't know how i will pay it, they will have to wait! Anyway will keep you informed maybe next week we will have some news, can't believe this has been going on since beginning of January!!

    Hi Sira,
you poor thing. House moves are SOOO stressful. When i sold, it was 6 months before it all went through. I had a similar thing with my 2 daughters not being too happy, my home with the ex was a big house with 5 bedrooms, but I had to downsize to a small 3 bedroomed house when we split up. They moaned because it was smaller, but I have managed to do their little rooms quite nicely and on a budget too. Dunelm, woolies and Wilkinsons all have great things for kids rooms. Ultimately, home is where Mum is, so they will soon come round when they see you are settled. They are probably picking up on all the uncertainty surrounding the house move. Hang on in there, it will all come right in the end.
    Hugs and best wishes, vanessa
