Firstly i want to say a BIG BIG thank you to you all for getting me through the past few days i really do not know how i would have got through without you all and such positive thoughts. I really did feel so alone with everything and really did feel there was no light at the end of the tunnel. We put an offer on a house which wasnt accepted so we upped it and it wasn't accepted now we have put in a last offer and builder is waiting to hear from another couple on Wednesday who are also interested and if they dont put in an offer then he will come back to us. I actually think he is trying to bargain us off against each other and i don't like that so i hope it all goes very wrong for him and he doesnt sell!! We have also found another house, not a new build, but it has everything we need just wants some tlc other than that would probably be our better buy as we won't have to buy carpets etc so wil have more left to throw at our debts. They are sleeping on it so fingers crossed we will have a positive answer tomorrow. Just hope after all of this Charcol havent bodged the mortgage up, they are asking for more details of our debts & CCJ at the moment so i hope he made it clear we will have some amount of debt left, but we did get an offer in principal which is a start. I feel so much more positive i just hope we have some good luck from now on. Oh yes and guess what, i've paid off my first debt, wasn't a huge one but at least it's a start!! I also started back at the gym today, thought it would give me that me time as jet suggested, i feel i have more energy and my head is clear. So it's all a little better today, let's hope i have even better news tomorrow xxxx

    Hi Sira,
Just read through all your posts on this thread and wanted to say, what a strong woman you are & your hubby is very lucky to have you. you hang in there kid & I hope you are lucky with the house you are after. I'd also like to say that all you other posters are a rock for people to turn to when things just seem too terrible to face, so thanks to you all for helping Sira see some light at the end of the tunnel, you're all stars Well Done

Just to let you know, got my house!! Really chuffed just a race to get everything done now as our buyer is not amused we've about turned and decided to buy and not rent. As usual it's left to me to sort it all hubby couldnt even manage to sort tea whilst i had my hair done today, he only had to cook it i'd done all the preparation, he made a start but started it too late as he had to go to work so i had a mad panic when i got in.I know this seems such a trivial thing but i just wish he would take some pressure of me. Anyway i have given him the job of getting the car Mot'd before next week, something else i normally do, let's see what happens. Still worried the mortgage may go all wrong, but will just try and stay positive.

Yeah i'm over the moon and i had some more good news today MBNA have rang me today and suggested settlement figures for 2 accounts of 35%!! OMG that is £3,500 knocked off i cant believe it . Obviously i've jumped at the chance they given me until April to pay it by then my house will be sold and i will have the money, that will be 2 down plus our CCJ paid off!! Does anyone know if you can negotiate on a CCJ or do you have to pay the full amount? I've also gone through my finances and picked out things that i can save on or do without when we move e.g wont have Sky, reduce our policies etc. and i've manged to save a massive £160 including the slight reduction in mortgage payments, i will shop around for utility providers, start afresh. I so hope this all works out i want to feel excited but i'm so scared it's all going to go wrong.

    Hi everyone

Just thought i'd post a little update. Well everything has been a little manic, trying to rush the sale through as our buyers, buyers are a little uneasy and threatening to pull out if we don't complete by the end of March. Everything is in place accept our mortgage offer and to be honest i'm feeling very, very anxious about this. We had an offer in principle from Preferred Mortgages and over the past week have been sending of bits and pieces to our Broker who has said today it is now going for process. I am sick to by stomach worrying that something is going to go wrong, they will look at our debts, see that they won't all be cleared, and turn us down. We have been honest but the Broker at one point said Preferred were querying the amount of our debt and what we would have left from the sale to throw at them, as it didn't match our Credit Report. Turned out the Broker had submitted the wrong details. So my worry is he has made a mistake, even tho we went through everything again, and now they have our DMP and creditors list etc., they won't give us a mortgage. I will be totally gutted as i thought we were on our way to sorting things out. I'm stressing so much i've actually made myself ill!! Just had an email saying surveyor has been instructed so i suppose i am just going to have to sit and wait to hear. Fingers crossed!!

Hiya Sira, to save you money can the company not withold the survey being carried out until you have an initial underwriting decision from the lender.
We do this on the majority of cases if we have any doubt whatsoever that there may be an issue.
Speak to your broker about this and see what they say.

I shouldn't try to worry too much, Are you still going to be left with the outstanding amount of debt that the broker initially put on the form? if so then everything else is negligible, also remind him/her that credit reports show a while to catch up, esp when you are on a DMP, most of my outstanding figures are substantially higher on my CR than they are in reality as it were. the lender will take this into consideration if you can provide a statement to that effect.
    Kind regards
    P

Sira completely understand how you feel. Currently we are in the middle of a remortgage to get away from a libor rated mortgage and it will save us a lot of money - seems to good to be true and beginning of the week I literally gave myself a stomch upset worrying and sleepless nights.

Surveyor has been now and its just that waiting game for the offer (or not?) from the mortgage company.

    Fingers crossed for you!
