Anyone else know any more about the £15 Vodafone deal with the £150 credit instead of the modem?0

Hello all, I after a bit of advice, hopefully someone can help.. I am currently on virgin- 12 month contract due to end soon.. have the phone & internet package (M), for £21. Only have the phone because we have to, we do not actually use it..
Wanting to change the provider as I know can get cheaper elsewhere- and I am looking at mobile broadband with the usb modem's - such as vodafone. We do not have a BT landline, and refuse to pay them £100+ to be installed when we do not use landline, so mobile broadband seems an ideal option..
Has anyone any experience of these USB modems? Also interested to hear peoples opinions on the virgin wireless router.. this is another option, but they do not seem to market it very much which makes me wonder how good it is...
We only surf the net, very little downloading if any..:snow_laug0 -
Managed to get £150 credit deal in store! Thanks for the tip larry!
lynxptc, jus pop along to your local Vodafone store armed with the info that loopholelarry posted and just explain the deal to the advisor. If they are aware of the offer they should give it to you. Seems like most advisors aren't aware of the offer which is why it's so difficult to get hold of.0 -
Just been to a Vodafone store and the woman I spoke to just didn't have a clue :-(0

Could someone pm me the name of stores where they've been successful with the vodafone offer please?
I went in today and sales advisor really helpful, wanted to make the sale, rang head office but neither he, nor head office knew about the deal.
He offered to ring one of the stores where the deal had taken place so that he could check things out-if someone could pm me this info I'd be grateful

Got the Vodaphone deal ! Salesman knew exactly what I was talking about when I asked about mobile BB with £150 credit - he was a Vodaphone Business advisor
Not quite as good a deal as it was £150 credit when taking out an 18 month contract, and there is £3.50 a month insurance x 2 which you can't cancel until 14 days are up - still good though:
Cost £20 + £3.50 +£3.50 + (£15 x18) - £150 = £147/18 months = £8.16 per month
Now I'm off to post the letter to disconnections for the 30 day contract...
another thankx to loopholelarry!0 -
I got the £150 credit deal on a 12 month contract so maybe you should enquire about that! You still have 14 days to cancel if you decide you want to go for 12 months.
I also had the £3.50 insurance added but the advisor wasn't sure why that was added because I didn't have any modem to take out insurance on!0 -
I use mobile broadband most weekends when we are travelling and also when away on holiday. My current contract with T-mobile expires next month so I am shopping around for the best deal.
At present I have a datacard which works very well. Previously I tried a dongle but found it ineffectvie but that was 2 years ago. Not to sure about USB sticks.
Ideally I would like reasonably priced, contract 12 - 18 months, 3GB per month downlaod, good coverage and preferably a UK based call centre. Does such an animal exist?0 -
Am looking for something similar myself.
