What's the best "OTR" price you have negotiated for a new Toyota Aygo?

Hiya,
We're looking to buy a new Aygo, and having surfed the site and looked into tips for shaving £££s off the list price of a new car, I'm now curious to see what other people have managed to save on this particular car (I'm being specific since Toyota's don't usually give great discounts as they don't really need too, and these are still relatively new cars so seem to be holding their value really well).
So, any success stories, please post them here! I'll be sure to do so if and when we've finally bought ours.
Thanks!

We bought a new one just over a year ago.
'+' model - middle spec - we wanted electric windows and remote locking
5 doors
flat red
aircon
Tried a local Toyota dealer - list was £7700. Best they would do after an hour was £300 off.
Went to drivethedeal.com. It was £7,000 and from Ipswich Toyota.
At the time York Toyota wanted £6,800 for a 23,000 mile year old model of similar spec - they would only come down to £6,500, so they do hold their value.0 -
If you don't mind the badge difference try a Citroen or Peugeot, identical cars, same factory.;)

I started a pretty similar thread this morning! We are looking at a Aygo Platinum with added A/C. What car say we should be able to get a target price quite a lot lower than I was expecting so I need to know what weneedto do to get that.0

That is a possibility, but on reading several reviews, they seem to be a lot more basic in their build quality, and I'm looking at one of the special edition Aygos - I like the thought of something a bit more special than the bog-standard "cooking model", as my OH likes to call it! Aygos hold their value better anyway. I'm not so fussed on getting the cheapest car possible: more like, getting the car I want for the cheapest price I can get it! Lol!
Thanks anyway, though.

Perhaps you should consider changing your User ID then..
Seriously, they are virtually identical cars, build quality is the same, made in the same factory, however I accept your other comments as being valid.;)0 -

Thnaks for the link folks. I know I need to haggle! It's how to. I will follow the link now as it looks like that one may help me.0

Best advice, get a price, then play dealers off against each other, remember you are in the driving seat, be prepared to travel a few miles to get your car.
If you don't get the price that suits you, just walk away from them, they will get back to you sooner or later.0 -
Right, I think we're getting slightly off tack here: the title of this thread asks for examples of what people have managed to bag an Aygo for.
While I do appreciate your advice on how to save money, thank you, let's get back to the original point of this thread!
Also, as for the point of my user ID: trying to save money on a more expensive model of car follows exactly the same principle as trying to save money on a lower model. It is still money saving. To be a money saver does not necessarily mean spending as little as possible all the time - quality still counts for a lot. Can't we keep this friendly, please?!
Thanks
