selling books on Amazon - tips for more profit

Regarding your Carry on Christmas, that was a pathetic excuse they used to get out of paying. As well as selling on Amazon I have bought a few books from marketplace too and Amazon do not give a delivery date. It just states in the e-mail that the seller has promised to dispatch it by ....(usually two working days after the date of purchase) You are quite within your rights to just keep their money and send it anyway especially if they don't reply to your e mail but it depends on whether you are feeling charitable or not. Now there are so many of these free ones floating around you'll have no hope of selling it in the future.0

Yes, I considered doing that but like you say there are loads. I really need to be able to sell mine as being part of this special collection as there are probably people who tried to collect the whole series (children's classics) and missed certain titles. It is a really nice set of books, very collectable I'd imagine.0 -

I read part of that thread you started on feng shui it was very interesting reading, anyway I came across a book on the subject and thought I would buy it, it was £1.29 thought I would have a look at it, get my money plant and see how it goes, put it on Amazon as I thought the boat had long gone on this sort of book and I have just sold it and I havent even looked at it,nice tidy profit of £8 so well impressed.0 -
Hello Angela - can you have a quick squint at the book before it goes in the post?
My feng shui is letting me down badly at the moment, I have 3 sales this weekend, one after another, all of them pending, probably terminal :mad:0 -
Many many MANY thanks to OP, have just sold my Madonna Book for £85 (didn't want to be too greedy). Far better than throwing it in the bin as originally intended.I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

What would you like to know?0 -
Aha! a misunderstanding!
I meant can you look at the book yourself, for yourself, since you wanted to read it.
I have about 5 feng shui books that I keep meaning to read from cover to cover, I keep picking at bits and I don't think that that's how you are supposed to do it - no - I was just having a flipping moan about the 3 pending books
Becky - well done you - you must be thrilled with that.0 -
I've unearthed a small book (canine related) that is quite old and in immaculate condition. I don't want it. On Amazon there is only one listed for £88.
The original purchase price for this book would have been about ten shillings in old money (c.1958). I don't want to be greedy but how much do I list it for?
I reckon I would be happy with a tenner if I hadn't seen another listed for such a ridiculous amount.
Any advice?Do not allow the risk of failure to stop you trying!0 -
I'd start fairly high and reduce the price by a fiver every week or 2 till it goes. If you start low you'll never know what it might have sold for0
