I was very annoyed yesterday. I received a 'sold despatch now' email from Amazon for a Carry on Christmas video. this was welcome as sales have slowed down for me recently. However I then received an email from the buyer cancelling the order, as Amazon had informed him of a delivery date of possibly 3rd Jan! I have replied ensuring the buyer that the video will be despatched immediately, but have yet to hear from him. Has anyone else experienced this? Good luck to everyone for Christmas sales. :rudolf:
Good news, he emailed back and said he would like the video! I was very polite in my email, I find this usually works. At least I,m not stuck with the video after the freebie in the Express. I also sold a book today so I am feeling a bit more positive now.
  • I've just sold the most obscure building regulations book, which I thought was a bargain at a boot fayre, but then my brother said it's really out of date. Anyway, it's sold for £30 - lovely result! Maybe it was written by J R Hartley's brother, who was looking for a copy!

So, start high with your doggy book - but maybe be prepared to be a little patient, ATs advice is probably good.

Hello Angela - can you have a quick squint at the book before it goes in the post?

My feng shui is letting me down badly at the moment, I have 3 sales this weekend, one after another, all of them pending, probably terminal

AT - I have two of these "pending" sales as well. Perhaps with all the Christmas spending these people have gone over their CC limit. It is annoying! Especially as one of these was my Haynes Manual which I would have been delighted to shift!!

  • Well, I'm delighted to say that inspired by this thread I started selling on Amazon last week and have made over £50 (after Amazon fees) in my first week.

I now have over 150 books, games and DVD's listed that were cluttering my loft, and hope to continue this early success

So, I am more than delighted and thanks to everyone for the inspiration!

This thread has made me an Amazon Addict!!
With the advice on here in mind I went in to my Uni library today, headed for the books now for sale section, picked up 8 books at £1 each, bottled out incase they wouldn't sell for much and left with 4 at £1 each. Just listed them on Amazon and even by undercutting all other sellers total sale will amount to £75 profit (providing they sell of course!!). My fingers are crossed.

becky - did you make a note of the titles that you left behind? can you check them out and go back for them? Uni books have been well recommended on here

Didn't make a note of others as there were well over a hundred there. Not due back in Uni till 13/01/06 but will definitely be making another trip before christmas to stock up on a few more!!! They were mainly psychology and child psychology text books.
