Bella13 wrote:Sold a CD on Amazon, for few pounds. Would anyone send this recorded? If it gets lost, is the claim process any quicker than if I just got a COP, please? In everyone's experience do buyers get annoyed if they have to go and collect from sorting office (if they weren't in to receive it)?
I'd personally just stick with the COP, I don't suppose that the claim would be any quicker with recorded - that's too much to hope for!
If the buyer is left a card they don't have to go to the sorting office, they can choose another delivery date on the card and post it back, or even pay a small sum to have it delivered to their local post office0 -
I am thinking of signing up for the pro merchant seller thingy what with xmas just around the corner I am expecting a rush,I sell books.cds & dvds mainly, when we have talked about this in the past we have mentioned how many books that need to be sold to recoup that amount but obviously with the cds and dvds you dont recoup as much, could someone let me know how much I will recoup on dvds and cds, books was 85p wasnt it.Many Thanks0

Hi Angela, I'm afraid that I don't sell cds or dvds just books - on books you will save 86 pence each, I don't know if it's the same amount for the other things, if so you need to sell over 17 items a month to get the benefit, that's while it's at half price - if you sign up before 30 november you get 3 months at half price. Did I tell you that I signed up the day before it went half price?0

I sold another book last night. Whoa Hoo! I did only make £1.40 but it all adds up. I decided not to sell anything that was below £1 (going straight back to the charity shop) so i don't have anything hanging around and taking up space. I found a fab charity shop that sells paperback for 20p - just bought five. Lowest listing for four of them were £13, £21 and £35 and Out of stock - £28 + £2 finder to get brand new from Amazon. I steered well clear of the best selling novels.
Hopefully this will get me closer to a deposit on my own place!0 -

Looking on Amazon's site, seems to be 86p per item, regardless of what it is, so the calculation is the same. Just noticed that on electronic and photo items only, pro-merchant sellers pay a lower closing fee percentage too. I know you didn't ask that, and that's not what you are selling, but thought worth mentioning anyway for anyone that does sell these items, although I am sure it has probably been mentioned before.AMAZON SELLERS CLUB member 0024 come and join us :hello: make some space and get hold of some cash, we're on the Ebay and other auctions, Car Boot and Jumble Sales Board0 -

Cheers for that, sounds like it might be worth going for it then.
So do you have to be pro merchant to sell electricals etc,its just that I had an upgrade phone to sell earlier in the year and it wouldnt let me,so had to sell on ebay, but I am sure I would have got a better price on amazon.
Thanks for all your help.0 -

Isn't it ANNOYING when you put in your ISBN and it says the book isn't in their catalogue...grrr!!!
I have so far resisted the urge to go out and buy loads of books especially to sell but its not gonna be long!!!
I think this is one of the friendliest threads on the whole forum!!!Laughing at my ancient signature...voodoobaby now 10 years old:eek:0 -

I have had a few duds that I have bought and are not listed on amazon.these I list on this site http://www.listbooks.co.uk/ as mentioned previously on this thread because if its not on this site either you can add any darn books you want that amazon wont have.
HTH
I agree about this being the best thread on the whole site.0
