selling books on Amazon - tips for more profit

Thanks A_P, I did have a look on Ebay the other week when I decided to sell them and found a couple of them already for sale, which seemed to fetch reasonable prices, so I'll go and check Amazon too. Never even thought of looking there before LOL!
They're virtually brand new as I've only ever really flicked through them, and I'm a terrible obsessive over not bending spines or turning down pages etc (I can read a paperback novel and you could barely tell its even been opened!) and they've also been stored in a box so have no marks on them whatsoever!
I'll go back to the start of the thread and have a look at the advice there, thanks! :A
PS they're paperbacks so shouldn't cost a lot to post!"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

I know this thread is about "selling" books but I wondered if anyone could tell me how you "buy" a book from the marketplace please
I know you add it to your basket in the usual way, but what about P&P, is that already included or is it added onto the price of the book at checkout, and if so how much does it usually cost? ... presumably it won't qualify under Amazon's normal rules for free delivery over £19?"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

Hello C-Q. The postage is a standard £2.75 regardless of the weight of the book and it is added to the cost of the book automatically. You can't use the over £19 free pandp offer on marketplace goods as they aren't included in the offer. Potentially your books could come from many different suppliers.

This means that you can choose from hundreds (thousands?) of books that cost just 1p plus £2.75 p&p....not a bad deal at all0 -

That's true, but I'm supposed to selling and not buying
I'd just spotted a couple of novels for sale that would complete a collection I have (someone borrowed them a couple of years ago and never returned them  ) but when I add on the postage costs it makes them more expensive than buying them new again on Amazon
I'm sure there's tons of bargains out there to be had though!"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

I always leave in a copy of the full sale email, so the buyer sees the amazon deductions for themselvesAny posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0

Note about postage - its not very high on DVD's ( something like £1.24)
So mention in your listing "UK pp only £1.24" - newer buyers will like that , perhaps expecting others will charge more!
Well , it worked for me anyway sold very quickly but only ever listed 1 DVD,( and was the cheapest on list) - and it was a boxset, so high actual postage ( although allowed for that in the listing price)Any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0 -

That's true, it is £1.24, I'd never thought to mention it in the description, it might just persuade someone to buy...thanks for that!0 -

Ouch! That'll hit a few pockets. Luckily I don't plan on being an Amazon seller long term, just till I declutter the bookshelves a bit. People running small home businesses will feel the pinch though.0
