If there's one thing that drives me completely insane is people with no manners !
Just reading this post made my teeth itch!
There is absolutely no excuse for bad manners, i'm constantly getting told off for being too polite but i think it's better to be curtious than to be rude
The worst for me ........ well the 2 worst, is when you are walking up the road , or path and somone is coming in the opposite direction, there is not enough room for both of you, so you stand and wait for them to pass, they just look at you like your a piece of dirt and walk past ! >:( >:( >:(
People with prams seem to be the worst, (sorry no offence meant)
I just say "THATS'S NO PROBLEM" quite loudly now, and they usually say 'oh uh thanks' ;D
Oh and while i'm on my little box of soap, the other one that reeeally does my head in, is opening the door for someone and standing there for the next 5 minutes letting everyone stare at you like your the bloomin porter and not 1 person saying thanks!! >:(
And then walking behind someone who walks through the door and lets it go in your face Grrrrrrrr !!
Ok rant over now folks, i feel much better now ;D0 -

Did you realise that offenders can actually serve their community service in a charity shop!!!! I spend a great deal of time in charity shops and while undoubtably there are some staff who are very rude (as everywhere) there are some that are most helpful and friendly...some of them have watched my 11 year old grow up we are in them so often! The problems with manners arise from the increasing problem of no respect for anyone or anything.. we can only do best by our own children.I have had brain surgery - sorry if I am a little confused sometimes

You are quite right about the community service, however there is no one allowed to do this that is classed as unsuitable, they only allow "offenders" of small offences to do this type of work. i.e non payment , slight driving offences, and non aggressive offences. The reason for this is that when community service is given, they are usually made to work in agroup of mixed offenders and they try to keep the lesser offenders seperate from the more serious ones.Nobody can make you feel inferior, without your permission

The worst offenders for ignoring you when you hold a door open are OAP. They are especially ignorant with children.
Also while in London on the tube it never ceases to amaze me that OAP, pregnant ladies or parents with babies are left standing while young fit adults and children occupy a seat. 20 years ago I asked a packed tube if anyone would give up a seat for my very pregnant sister. Many obliged but my sister was mortified. Apparent it was just not the done thing. Still when I visit London I always offer my seat if only to shame others. In Wales we have stickers on buses asking you to give up your seat to someone more needy. Perhaps LT could do the same.

I also find it really offensive when you get some snooty nosed *** throwing dirty looks and snide remarks at a mother or father trying to calm down a destressed child, they seem to think that you cant control them (although not saying that all can) but on the whole i think these parents are trying there damndest in a very awkward position. I get so upset when i hear some oap sneering "it wants a damn good hidin', that ad sort it" thank god there not my grandparents :-X ::)Nobody can make you feel inferior, without your permission

I went into a charity shop in Harborne Birmingham last week . A little old lady went in after me with one of those trollys on wheels to give the charity shop some bric a brac and they refused it .
I bet she struggled down the high street with that trolly thinking she was doing a good deed by giving to charity only to be turned away . Poor things.
that's horrible!!! even if it's not saleable stuff they could at least take it then look through it later and if it's rubbish chuck it away or give it to a jumble sale at a little-old-ladies coffee morning thing. how awful for that poor woman!
i work in mcd's and also volunteer in a school. i have got so used to adding 'please' very loudly onto childrens requests that i now find myself doing it with the customers at mcd's!52% tight0 -

i once saw a mother wearing a t-shirt printed in large letters 'my child is not naughty, he is autistic and cannot control his behaviour. please don't stare or tut at us!'52% tight0 -

That really is awful and they should be reported, i've been a volunteer at my local Scope for a long while now and i have to be honest we never turn away anything, it doesn't matter what it is, if its not saleable we send it with the men who collect anything for possible recycling and any clothes that arn't sold within a week are sent with the rag men for distribution to third world countries etc, i think i must be very very lucky because everyone at the store is so lovely and would do anything for anyone. Including those doing community service, i've always found them to be very polite and curtious.Nobody can make you feel inferior, without your permission
