Well my day started off ok (porridge) but has slowly gone downhill - won't depress you with the details
.
Anyone know if you can save money by using an old WW card and therefore pay a smaller/nil registration fee?0 -
Can I join?
I'm not planning on loosing weight for a while as I'm housebound and mostly bed bound atm due to various things but hopefully reading about all your successes will stop me eating my own body weight in chocolate through boredom. My diet is already very good, I'm vegan, can't eat chocolate too often due to migraines and eat small portions so it's really the inactivity that has me carrying a lil too much junk in the trunk. I could do with loosing about 2 1/2 stone altogether to get back to my pre-illness figure.
When I'm able to get up for a while I try and bake some muffins etc so I have something reasonably healthy to eat with a cup of tea and am always interested in baking recipes. This site is very good http://www.fatfreevegan.com/ although the meals are vegan some people might find them handy for green days and there are some good snack ideas which are even better if you skim some of the sugar off the recipe yourself.

Hi sleepymy, you have my sympathy. I have long term health issues too. It's the inactivity thats helped me put on a load of weight. I've gradually been learning to be healthier over the past few years and at least my weight is now stable even without exercise. All i need to do now is to get it down a bit. Think it'll be a slow process - just as long as it's going in the right direction - I'll be happy with a lb a month! One thing that helped me before was a tick list of say 5 pieces of fruit, 5 glasses of water, 5 bouts of exercise etc. Whatever my goals were at the time. Must try and find it again.0

Thanks wee bargain hunter , it's good to know there's someone else in the gang who knows the difficulties of loosing weight when you can't exercise, sorry to hear you've got health problems too though x
You've just reminded me that I read somewhere that getting 3 ten minute bursts of exercise a day is as good as doing 1/2 an hour at a time. I used to stay thin by being a fidgeter and always taking the stairs etc. At the moment my goal is to be able to get out of bed for a short while each day to do things like showering, baking or light housework. When I can do these things comfortably I hope to work up to a daily walk round the block. The good thing is that, when I get better, the weight should drop off since I've got the diet thing mostly sorted, apart from the odd essential sinThe stupid things you do, you regret... if you have any sense, and if you don't regret them, maybe you're stupid. - Katharine Hepburn0 -
Not been a good day for me. Had chips for tea and now eating hob nobs...... oh the shame0

On a serious note though, Mum and I were thinking about buying a cross trainer between us. She'd like to loose weight also but isn't hot on the idea of a gym. She can't use a bike very well as she has a bad back. Would a cross trainer be ok for her? If so, can anyone recommend a decent one at a reasonable price?

See, that's afar far too organised there Janren. The thought of counting all day just depresses me.
For those who may have "slipped" today and are feeling a little crap do not feel bad about it - I've had half a pack of Jaffa cakes and a bottle of wine. It may not be doing much for weight loss but I fell wonderful!
If I wake up early again tomorrow, I'm going to force myself out of bed and to the gym/out for a wadddle (it should be a run but I'll happily admit it's more a waddle..)0 -
