The answer I have found is to eliminate refined carbs entirely from my diet.
No refined carbs = no cravings at all.
I'm not even missing my glass or two of red wine.
If you don't have the cravings it's simple not wanting to eat snacks. My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

Exercise shouldn't been seen as a way to lose weight it should be seen as a vital part of a healthy life :-)
Well done on your progress lisa, have you seen the film What About Bob? Its all about the baby steps!
Just an idea but have you checked on freecycle to see if theres any treadmills? Then you can walk a bit inside or in the garden?0 -

I am! I'm going to do it. Thanks for starting the thread, Lisa. I wouldn't say i'm depressed, but i'm royally fed up with myself, and quite scared i'll peg out before my time.
I hate going anywhere incase I see someone I know, or that I won't fit in a chair! I want to go to the theatre but I don't want to pass people who are already seated incase I can't get past. I'm sure they don't want my backside in their face! I go to the cinema quite a bit but that's only because I know I fit in the seats - and I don't go in if I can't get an aisle seat. Went to see Tina Turner at Hampden a few years ago and almost got stuck in a turnstyle.
I'm fed up of shopping in Evans. I hate, hate, hate that shop. Think they can sell things at a premium, with buttons not sewn on properly because you're fat and have no other choice! Why do they sell low-rise jeans to fat people? Why do they sell clingy polyester tops to people with spare tyres?
I hate that i'm always tired. I'm embarrassed because my parents, who are in their mid-70's can get up off their low sofa's with no problem, and I struggle. There is so many reasons I have to lose weight.
I was dreading my birthday but i'm looking forward to it now. New start and all that.I wish today was Monday. I've got it in my head now and I want to go.
Lisa, I have more weight to lose than you, and i'm a bit nervous too, but i'll overcome that. Are you going to try and go to a class? I'm really determined this time. Go on, you can do it too!0 -

No Ann Harvey's hereabouts, Sue. Trust me if I had an alternative to Evans I would shop there lol. I've bought some stuff online, but I prefer to try things on before I buy.0

That's a shame. Should you ever find yourself near one, go in!
What about Bon Marche? I find them a bit of an odd shop, some of their stuff seems really young and trendy, and some really 'granny-ish', but mixed in with it I find things I like which fit! :rotfl: They say they're aimed at the over 45 market, but their size range is good!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
I have been in a couple of Ann Harvey's before and I liked it, but they were about 6 hours away in the car, and it was years ago lol. I'm sure there must be one closer but not within 100 miles probably. I just looked online and they're setting up a website.
No Bon Marche here either. Never heard of them.
I remember when I lost weight in 1999, and the first time I managed to buy a pair of size 18 jeans in BHS. I was thrilled.0 -
Hi Jackie, Im a size 18/20 and have bought some of my close from Evans and I can relate to what you are saying. The close are either tight fitted or they make you look like you are walking around in a tent so u appear to be the size of 5 double deckers :-|
Today I have been for a walk. come back home and have had brekfast. fruit salad with natural yogurt and 2 pices of brownbread toast.
Check me out!! lol0 -
Ohh, look at you!!
Well done, Lisa.
