I'll have a look to see if I can get any books to follow this diet.
I am sooo tired at the moment. I think I need to rest my whirring head and look at more diets tomorrow. Thing is its food shopping day on Friday and would like to start dieting then. Better get a move on then innit

hmm ok now I am confused, i know weight watchers and slimming world are different diets but in what way?
Confused Lisa!0 -
I too am suffering from depression and overweight. I'm in quite a bad place mentally at the moment but have decided that as of tomorrow, no matter what I will be out walking the dog for half an hour at least once a day.
I think this will help me feel less self loathing and hopefully less depressed (that and the sig. amount of medication I'm on!!) I can be thiner and happier and that is what I am going to be.
Good luck OP you and all the rest of us who are in the same boat can do it!0 -

Lisa, it's been quite a few years since I did Slimming World, but it used to be that you had an original(meat) or a green day. You didn't have to weigh your food. Here's a link to a sample week's menu.
I think you count points with WW. Someone who's done it will manage to tell you though.
Hello bobsa. Good luck for tomorrow.0 -

It might be worth taking a look at this website https://www.weightlossresources.co.uk - I used it to help me figure out calorie counting etc...it's £9 a month from memory and has a lot of other resources and forums etc. You can sign up for a 3 day free trial if you like.0

well, i'm doing it at the moment and really determined! the book is very inspiring and makes me feel very confident and even if i have a bad eating day - i don't worry about it and eat healthy the next day
it's a bit cheesy but very positive and is working.
if you're depressed/down, a good website (recommended by my GP) is livinglifetothefull.com
good luck with it all0 -
hi
well done for making the first step in dealing with the issues you have to tackle.
I have been doing slimming world since Nov and have lost a stone. Nice slow steady weightloss and have never gone hungry, infact I have just had a plate of slimming world chips
You can be referred to slimming world by your gp, and it is paid for 12 weeks.
good luck with whatever healthy eating plan you choose to follow

I am currently half way through the No Diet Diet - I saw a supplement of part of it in a paper a few weeks ago and thought "I could cope with that, I think." I do think it would be useful for someone who is unhappy as well as overweight - can you order that from the library?
It's also very encouraging in that it says no-one fails on this 'diet', even if we don't complete the four week programme. I can see it wouldn't suit everyone, but it's something you can come back to.
AND it's not hard ...Signature removed for peace of mind0
