I am one of the ironing weirdos - only do the things that really need it and never do bedding!
Have cleared the basket this afternoon though. I dry the clothes indoors and not in tumble dryer so find they are very creased - iron much less in summer when theyve been line dried.0 -
First time post so hope this ends up in the right place. I have just loved this thread! I love my home to be organised (SADDO!) and have spent most of the week decluttering and sorting out my hotspots. Dont wanna brag but have sorted out:
- under stairs (not been in there since we moved in 18 months ago
- Desk drawers in study......spent a whole afternoon shredding old bills dating back to 2003!!!
- Finally put away my summer clothes so now have room in wardrobe
- thoroughly cleaned EVERY room in the house!
- Done inventory of bathroom products (why anyone needs ten bottles of bubble bathI dont know!), kitchen stuff (every cupboard, everything in freezer.......have nearly 5kg of frozen salmon!!!!) and cleaning stuff (love the hints for simpler cleaning stuff, will use my backlog first tho)
Feel knackered but sorted!
I hope this is a regular thread. I work fulltime and need lots of lists to get me going first thing in the morning! (as well as vat of coffee!)
Happy cleaning!0 -
Evening.
Sounds like we are having fun again today. Well done to those of you who have had a good flying sesh. Embb - i really don't know how you got all that done in such a short time. scary.
We have had an 'out of the house' jobs day. I also seemed to spend quite a bit of time sitting outside places while DH was doing work things. Not so bad when charlie was asleep as i could read my book, but a pain when he was awake and very bored and wanting to get out.
Anyway, achieved:- food shop
- went to boots and had my xmas internet shop points added- over £20 worth so pleased there
- got a tin of baby milk as i know i want the back up for if BFing does not work well this time
- went to mothercare to get my buggy guarantee dated - bought an outfit for the new baby cos i couldn't resist, plus a cheap t-shirt for charlie, and a poncho towel cos they are fab, and i have been managing with one for months.
- bought an airer at Argos which is bent, so that needs to go back
- bought birthday cards for all rellies between now and me breaking up for Easter hols.
- got birthday presents for my dad and sisters partner
I have also come up with a bit of a plan for the next few weeks. However much it might distress me, i still have a lot of deadlines between now and me finishing work in 24 school days time, and also so much needs doing in the house. I am wasting too much time on the internet, and it really is causing me stress not getting done. So, i think i may withdraw from flylady for a few weeks. After all, i know i can pop in anytime and see you all and you will still be following the routine. So if i am not around very much, that will be the reason.
Thanks for your support girls. I will pop in when i can.
Michelle, x0 -
Michelle.. that is perfectly understandable.. but don't leave us.. we are way too nosey and you know we will only bne asking after you.. just pop in and say you're fine for us!!
I have a headache.. I'm off for a shower.. and we will see if I can ctually get in a pub tonight wihout having a heap big strop like I did last night.. ROFL.. I am a nightmare sometimes!!
I am now going to play with my laundry!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Hey everyone,
JillD - sometimes dd2 would wake up because she had kicked her covers off and was maybe a bit chilly - so we got her a sleeping bag and that pretty much seemed to do the trick (also kept her in a cot for longer :rotfl: )
Pink Fairy - congrats to your OH :j
Mudbath - So pleased to hear everything turned out ok for you.
Serena - You should be so pleased with yourself *big pat on back*
ok well yesterday was fun - I was using the steam cleaner to get into the hard to reach bits in the bathroom - and it started to sqeal and there was steam coming out from underneath it. I can't remember the last time I moved quite so fast :rotfl: Switched it off at the socket and it stopped. Left if half an hour, phoned DH who demanded I put it in the bin. I suppose it least it lasted 7 years... missing it already though! Anyway bathroom has been scrubbed from top to bottom - OH noticed shower was "hotel clean" without his glasses on - which is saying something!
DH and kids moved all the spare blocks from front garden today so the drive looks tidy.
I spent most of the afternoon cleaning the kitchen (halfway through the fridge just now) and then only the breakfast/island bit to sort and I am done in here too!
Although DH took the big 2 to swimming lessons this am and somehow ds's spiderman towel went missing from his locker... who would take something from a 5yo???
Anyway master plan for me is :
fridge, clear counter and clean, then either ironing or filing paperwork!0 -
**Agrees with Pigpen!!!** Michelle you must still pop in when you have time

Evening all
It's been a lovely sunny day, but bitterly cold, both in South Wales and North Somerset. I vacuumed downstairs and stripped DS's bed and remade it, and we were on the road at 10 (when some of you were still in bed. :j) I had an optician's appointment at 11 and we arrived with 5 minutes to spare having dropped off another spare key for my brother to check the doglets at lunchtime. Had the eye test and my left eye has changed quite a lot in only 18months, so new glasses again, but I didn;t have time today. We then drove to Weston-super-mare to take flowers to the crematorium for my dad (it would have been his 79th birthday on Tuesday) and went to MacDonald's for lunch as DS specially requested it.
We drove down the back roads instead of the M'way back to Nailsea/Backwell playhouse for my daughter's Line Dancing Show at 2.30. It's not professional, but what they lack in finesse is more than made up for with enthusiasm. There are some very good dancers, but they have several who have various learning difficulties who are generally slightly out of synch, but so enjoy themselves. They did really well, but I sometimes wish DD had kept up her ballet, tap and jazz as well.
Got back home about 6.30 and have had some tea. Now just chilling nicely and catching up with you all. Many thanks again for all the congratulations for DH. I don't think he's quite recovered from his nerves yet and he's shooting all weekend.
Serena - congratulations on the payslip :T
Jill - glad you're feeling a bit better. Hang in there. As for the dummy, my daughter wouldn't settle without one until she was turned three, although I wouldn't let her have one during the day unless she was having a nap. My son never had one or sucked his thumb. The difference - she wouldn't breastfeed and I had to give up by the time she was 3 months. He never looked back and I fed him till he was 13 months, the last couple of months only being morning and evening feeds. I know you aren't keen to go back to dummies, and others may agree or disagree, but if I had to choose between a dummy and a disturbed sleep, I know which I'd go for.
Minibudgetgal - welcome :hello:. Yes, this is a regular thread, although I've not been here that long myself. We get our [STRIKE]orders[/STRIKE] ideas from Pigpen at the moment coz she's standing [STRIKE]on[/STRIKE] in for Mudbath. She'll add a link from this thread to the new one for next week, and post Monday's tasks tomorrow, adding each day's tasks the night before. I also work full time and have really let things slip since we moved three years ago, but this thread has really helped me get back on track and reclaim my house, as well as the support, friendship and fun that you get from everyone on here. Enjoy!
I'm off to watch Casualty then soak in the bath. Night night, God bless x

ok.. so.. do I allow hubby to persuade me to go in town with all the scrotes.. OR do I refuse to go and end up in the same dive we normally end up in on a Saturday night.. I honestly can't be faffed to go out and have a pounding headache AND it is blooming freezing out there.. I almost frose solid just popping to the bin!! I certainly do not fancy spending all night waiting for a cab to come home at 2am in a frostbiting weather..
I could.. insist on going in the usual dive as it is within about 5 minues walking distanceof home and say we will go in town next Friday.. is that totally unreasonable?LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Tomorrows list will be up about 4pm tomorrow and I 'll put a link on this thread..

Jill.. Tiddles still has her dummy and she is 3.5.. she still sucks it all the time it is in.. and as long as she is happy she can keep it.. there aren't many 10 year olds that still have one. I'd be spending tim teaching her to put it in herself though.. I sat with Tiddles when she was about 3-4 months old (she was 6 weeks prem) taking it out of her mouth and putting it in her hand until she learned how to do it herself.. took a few days but she got it eventually.. I've never had to get out of bed to dummy her since.. That sounds really mean... ROFL.. I didn't torture her with it and make her upset.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0
