  • Right - i tackled the porch. :j I've cleaned all of the uPVC frame, and cleaned the glass in the door and one of the windows, and i give up cos it took me ages as it was really cold and the window cleaner wasn't evaporating and was just smearing everywhere - will do the other 2 windows at some slightly warmer time.

I got a bit carried away while the stardrops was out, and i have cleaned the back door and kitchen uPVC and windows, plus the living room, plus the patio door in the dining room. So all of downstairs glass wise is lovely and sparkly. I feel that can count for my half hour exercise and then some, as it took me about an hour and a half. I need to now get rid of the mucky water, and make myself a cuppa. How do i now keep the cats and charlie away from all these areas. cos i am betting by the end of the weekend most of it will look like i didn't do it.

    1[strike]) finish looking at 11J5 coursework - estimate 1 hour[/strike] 20 mins
[strike]2) hang up washing just done and empty big airer - 20 mins [/strike]
    [strike]3) lunch - 20 mins[/strike]
    [strike]4) look at 11J6 coursework - 2 hours[/strike] 1 hour 40 mins
    5) look at 8b scheme -estimate - 1 hour
[strike]6) pack a bag for charlie for mums[/strike]
    7) pick up charlie, take to mums along with birthday cards and pressie - few hours
    8) home after 7 - put charlie in bed, and make a butternut squash and red lentil soup for dinner

    extras:
    • dealt with post
    • accepted delivery of parcel
    • emailed woman to let her know it arrived
    • left ebay feedback
    • picked through a bag of grapes where some had gone nasty, just sat and ate a load of them for my lunch as pudding after cheese on toast - woohoo - healthy lunch again.
    • put all year 11 coursework in a folder ready to hand over to head of department - therefore mitigating my responsibility for it after that point - PHEW!
so looking at that list - i am nearly there. look what happens when i put my mind to it. Right, will now make that cuppa then, and perhaps do a bit on that scheme of work as i have about an hour till getting charlie, and you never know, i may finish that too. :T

    Michelle, x

Lil_me - difficult situation for you and big hugs. I'm sure you've done the right thing by being tough and people like that never end up going without. They always find another source.

If anyone can tell me how, I might be able to put a picture on here!

I've put my day off to good use. The ceiling is going to wait until Sunday but I did all my dailies, ordered my shopping, then dashed off to Newport for Freecycling collection. Someone was going to bin cuddly toys  which I (and the doglets) love, so I've brought them back and DS collared a Husky for GF as she loves them. Stopped off at brother's for coffee as he's on leave this week, then came back and made soup for later, and omelettes for lunch. GF's parents (aka Sad Sack and Wet Blanket, along with Psycho Kid) went to the Big Pit without GF as she wasn't up to it. Neither would I be if I could only walk with crutches and they didn't want to push her in her wheelchair. :mad:Just after 2, they phoned to say they were coming and to put the kettle on! At the time, they still didn't know I was home, but I was up to my neck in scrubbing the shower room, so when they arrived, I didn't stop, went straight on to vacuuming the extension and then shampooing the carpet. They sat for half and hour with their coats on, moaning at the dogs, so Jake put them in the garden, but I told him to let them back in as it's their house. Do you get the idea I don't welcome intrusion when I'm busy? She's come before when she knew I was working from home and sat waiting at the dining table hoping I'd stop and talk to her, make coffee etc. I get paid to work!!!

Anyway, I've done all the flooring in shower, den, DD's room, sunlounge, and back hall, scrubbed tiles, cleaned basin, loo, dusted in all those rooms, wiped skirting and light switches, finished kitchen inc cupboard fronts and tops, cleaned windows in kitchen, sunlounge and shower room, washed shower curtains, plus another washload. Having coffee then going to vacuum rest of downstairs, wash kitchen floor and DS is going to dust lounge and dining room for me.

to post a pic, load it onto photobucket or something, copy the direct link, click the 'insert image' icon above (looks like a postcard, hover your pointer over it), paste in the direct link, and off you go (remember to delete anything in the box first).

Planning on making chicken wraps for tea, and maybe some macaroni for DH when he finishes work.
  • It's taken me ages this afternoon to catch up on 30 odd pages of chat, but I'm finally there.
Mind you I'm so whacked from our 2 days with social services that I'm fit for nothing and no flying has been attempted.

Michelle- glad to see you are writing shorter lists and taking it a bit easier.
rumbly- good luck with the house move
serena- pleased you had a great day out at the flower show.
Pink Fairy- lots of congrats to your DH on his award
JillD- love the look of your new plan, hope things continue to improve for you
pigpen- v sorry to hear about Barney rabbit, hope the littlies are feeling a bit better about the situation
Mudbath- huge relief for you, silly nurse not giving you the full info
Lurkio and other newbies - hi and welcome
    likklegibbon- enjoy the play tonight
    Dustykitten- happy birthday for yesterday
gingergirl- my opinion, for what it's worth, is that you've definitely made the right decision as far as work goes. Hope you all have a fab day in London.
tracyg- hope your little DS is ok
lil_me- sorry to hear you've got a few family hassles going on

Hugs and hellos to anyone and everyone else I've missed.

We had an excellent couple of days away and now have lots more info about the little girl we are hoping to adopt. It was extremely tiring though and over those 2 days we spent about 3 hours in a car and another 8 hours or so sat on trains.

We've been giving a bit of thought to how we need to maximise space at home when there will be 4 of us and so we are thinking of getting rid of the computer and it's table from the dining room and buying a lap top instead. Just a scary amount of money involved in doing that!

A bit of flying to keep things ticking over at the weekend and then next week I'll start again.
...it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.

    Afternoon all,

I did try to post at lunch time but it wouldn't work so gave up eventually.

Mudbath - glad to hear your news shame you had to spend a night worrying when you didnt have to.
Lil-me - hope your DH can sort out your borrower without you needing to become more invovled.

There were others but I cant remember who, so well done to all those who have completed lists etc. I haven't managed any flying apart from dailies today, in a cant be ar#ed mood and as Oh is out tonight tea is simple and then its a DVD and a lazy evening, quite fancy having some wine but theres none left in the house, not sure if I can drag the kids to the local coop for a bottle of cheap plonk I think I need to find something else which we have run out of to make it a slightly better reason for going.:D

Movie was really funny, took library books back at the same time.

I have filled the log basket - log store now empty so on the weekend we need to go to our log pile and see if anything is ready to burn if not a trip out to tidy up the countryside somewhere. Emptied the ashes going to dig them into my new veg plot tomorrow.

Right time to fetch the towels in and get started on the kitchen just going to do a list of what I haven't done this week to concentrate my mind over the weekend.
