hex - thats good its just taken my hubby 18 months to finish a wall that measured 3m in length he kept getting distracted with other jobs which he felt were important!! it had a height of 3 bricks and was only done 1 level at a time.
  • Evening all

Rach - you look amazing, and so happy. All the luck in the world to you both.

Pigpen - don't suppose you fancy organising my decorating like that, do you?

Tinselfairy - I'm quite new on here, so not "met" you before, but lovely news for you. I'll keep everything crossed for you.

Solwaykid - hope you don't suffer too much with the headache. Mine's finally gone!

Amanda - hello, welcome and enjoy!

Hex2 - Love the fireplace. I demolished our fire surround myself and had great fun with it. My house is just about recovered from DD's OH sanding the lounge ceiling for me. Saved my chest from anymore hassle after the asthma probs I've had lately, but it's taken me yesterday afternoon/evening and all day today to clean up.

I've conquered the ironing mountain.:T DH made dinner and cleared up, and he;s put the bags for the charity shop in the car so I can drop them off on the way home from work tomorrow. I've re-hung the newly washed and dried lounge curtains, and the bathroom ones are ready to go back up when I go upstairs. The archway and sunlounge curtains aren't dry enough to iron yet, but the throws from the den, and all the cushion covers are done.

Anyway, I'm in again this week, girls. I know I've been doing the lounge all weekend, one way or another, but it's not there yet so...........

    Evening all!

You lot have been chatty today! Well DH got kitchen floor down and it looks great - not sure why we haven't done it sooner now! the old carpet was awful and full of stains - kitchen looks bigger and cleaner!

His next job is to paint the walls, tiles and cupboard doors.

Had a good day, went shopping with LO this morning and grabbed a few boots bargains, then took him for a long walk, then visited 2 of my sisters and picked up DD's and we all had tea at my mums.

Got back and had to clean all the kitchen surfaces, do pack ups, shower and deflea girls and now having a chill! Just off to watch Lost and have a Baileys!

Love the pics Rach - have seen them all on face book. You look amazing!

Anw - I also didn't realise DH was a policeman - wasn't sure if you had ever posted about what happened and I missed it or you had just not told us and I didn't want to pry.

Pigpen - thats a big challenge - makes my kitchen look easy peasy - although we would like a loft conversion too then dd's could have a room each!

    Forgot to add

Tinsel - welcome back thats great news

Love the car idea - mine is disgusting - I often joke to my friends they need to wipe their feet when they get out and my sister is disgusted when she moves a booster seat and ends up sitting on sticky toffees in her designer coat!!!

Cars...but ours is dirty! I sold mine so although I use DH's car it's his really so I think I should, by duty, leave it to him to clean???? Do I get away with this arguement?

Spent all day in the garden. Greenhouse totally clean, dead leaves in compost, found some hidden snowdrops under some leaves, I love my garden xx

I am in again this week :)

I could so with a bit of an ear/shoulder please if everyone doesnt mind.
I am sooooo fed up at the moment, I'm finding the daily repetitiveness of it all unbearable. (I might have already posted about this, I am in such a muddle I haven't a clue what I've done half the time.)
I tidy up they just muck it up again. I wash the clothes , they get them dirty.
I load the same old dishes into the dishwasher etc etc
I feed the baby a billion times and change a hundred nappies and wipe poo off various backsides and I feel like I am going to scream all the time.
The baby is still getting up in the night. I'm trying to keep on top of the kids, the food and the house in the day, and I only ever get around to paperwork etc in the evenings. DH always seems to stop in the evening before I do and it drives me mad.
I asked him for help last week with the night feeds suggesting he gives her a bottle any time up to 1am if she wakes, and then I would do any night feeds after that (she has one maybe two bottles a day the rest are breastfeeds). Theoretically at worst I would be doing 1 night feed a night and maybe none (she's 5 months and is Little Miss Random at night and after 5 months of it I am starting to get cheesed off but I dont want to stop feeding her).
He said "No, because I have to get up and go to work"  so although I don;t stop from 7am til I collapse in bed at night he doesn't count it as work. I've been incedibly hacked off and demotivated at home since he said that, I feel like he has totally devalued everything I do, and that he takes me completely for granted. I often think that I wont cook for him or wash his clothes any more but I cant bring myself to be so petty and anyway I couldnt put up with the mess he would make if he did it. He's since said he sees he was being unfair and has agreed to help, but that lasted two nights then last night I had to get up twice. His initial reaction really hrt. I get up with the kids at 7 every morning and do all 3 myself while he lies in bed for an hour after me and gets up sorts himself out and goes to work.

I had typed loads and loads of stuff (but it was too long and waffly so I deleted it) about the 2 massive rows we had yesterday culminating in him sleeping in the spare room. We've made up now but I feel really lost.

I can't seem to take a step back and see if things are balanced. I dont know if I'm being unreasonable and asking him to do more than his fair share. I'm due back to work in May which I think will help a bit to have some time away from being a domestic slave, but also it means I wil have to do the same amount of stuff in less time and we wont have any more money because we budgeted for maternity leave to e funded at the same level as if I was bringing in a salary. I think part of the problem is I am a perfectionist whereas he just cant be bothered to do anything but work. He is a workaholic, and he admits it. He and 2 other guys have their own (software) company and he's terrified if he doesnt work in every avaiable minute that he wont be making as much as he can etc etc. If I ask him to do anything he leaves it and leaves it and leaves it , I have to nag for days to get him to change a lightbulb. He says I shouldnt expect him to do it to my schedule. I asked him would he empty the dishwasher before he comes to bed he said no he would so it in the mornings. He doesnt even do this now. nIf I point out the things he doesnt do he says I am a nag and criticise too much and reels off everything he does do. I then have to grovel and apologise for whataver I critcised. He's an only child and sometimes its so obvious as he acts really spoilt , used to getting his won way all the time (sorry to those who are/have only children).

How can I start feling better about things ???? I've been to the GP, I'm on antidepressants for PND but just feel so hacked off and fed up. There is never enough time, I am always playing catch up and I never seem to stop and relax. I dont even care enough to cry any more. I knowits not all DH's faul, he is a very kind lving husband and father and I wouldnt ever want to be without him. He works very very hard and bears all the responsibility on his shoulders and I know he just wants me to be happy, and in terms of things we say etc he is much nicer to me than I am to him.
But how can I find a better balance ? How do you all do it ?

Sorry for the long ranty whingey moan but I dont know who else to ask really.
    Jillx
also havent spell checked as I keep adding waffle every time I read it. So I hope it makes sense.
