I have made a decision regarding the middle room.. the plan of action is as follows..

    1. empty middle room into the loft/charity shop.. most of the toys can go.. the only thing staying is the tumble dryer.
    2. Move our bedroom into the middle room
    3. sand and paint our bedroom then move the girls in there..
    4. replaster and decorate the girls room and put the stairs in for the loft room.
    5. decorate our bedroom how we want it.. move us back in there.
    6. replaster and decorate the middle room.. move the old sofa (to be replaced with a sofa bed when I find one cheap enough) and pc into there.. and one of the PS2's that can be the childrens 'sitting room'

I did toy with the idea of the middle room being a 'discotheque' but thought that was maybe a bit limiting and sad lol.. so it will be their sitting rom and they can tidy it once a week.. because I said so!

Oooh.. children squabbling.. more yelling for me and more work for them.. obviously they are bored..

ARGH!!! ... falling bricks.. back later.........

Now I know this is sad but I just noticed that there is a prog all about neighbours on C5 at 6pm which I wouldn't mind watching :o

I read that somewhere but we'll be watching Time Team, I think it's repeated tomorrow lunchtime.......

Rach - the pictures are great - you looked lovely! Thanks for sharing - we wondered how it had gone.

Another 4 hours in the garden, and I am very sore. One of the azaleas fought back and I now have a puncture wound in my backside - very ow sitting down. Boys thought it was very, very funny. Kind SS2 has spent several hours shredding stuff so it allo went into the green waste bin.

I have removed four shrubs, sadly neglected past recovery. Put ten healthy azaleas into temporary pots for distribution to other people. Dug the top layer of soil off what will be the boys play area, and started a retaining wall down one edge to hold in the bark. Cleaned out the chickens, and collected three eggs. Made some cappuchino buns and sunday lunch.

Now time for littles to go to bed, DH to take SSs back to their mums, and me to get on with ironing his work shirts and packing a bag for his overnight tomorrow - then we can actually spend an hour together when he gets back. at 9pm or so tonight.

I like the hall and car options. I drive a long wheel base landrover, and the junk is starting to fill up to window level. Childrens stuff, not mine, so they can have a lovely start to half term. DS1 has a friend coming to play for the first time tomorrow, which we are excited about - but we must clean the living room before they come. The rest of the house is ok, but the living room is the boys play room and is in a huge mess as usual. I will just make them pick ten things up each before they go to bed.

    Hello everyone. ;)

rach - your photos are fab and you both look stunning, hope everything went well on the big day.

I have been kind of flying since the new year, working from old print outs of the lists.
DH has been in hospital and had an op on his back and has been off work for 3 weeks now.

But the best news is that we have been asked to be the new family for the little girl we were visited for just before Christmas. :T

It took them forever to make a decision and the whole wait was one of the most stressful times ever, but now they want everything to happen very quickly.
In fact this coming week we are off to visit a variety of people including the foster carer and the nursery key worker.
We go to panel to be officially linked and approved as the new family mid way through March so until that happens we can't count our chickens, but everyone is very positive about us so far.
Moneysaving is going to feature big time as I shall be taking 18 months off and 12 of those will be unpaid, so I need to make sure that not only do I get my flylady act together but also my old style moneysaving in full swing again too.

I don't know what's been happening with everyone as I haven't logged on to the boards for the longest time, but I hope everyone is well and I look forward to being part of this fab group again.
...it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.

  • I'll be in this week too. Not much to do in the livingroom but the front porch hasn't had a good doing for a while.
I've got a womping headache too, I think it's too much fresh air (long walk yesterday and 3hrs gardening today in the fog).. not the red wine from last night or the fact that I slept on my brother's sofa and kept waking up when D or L got up to see to baby Isaac. He's very cute though!

Rach, you look so beautiful, I'm very happy for you.

Off to do half an hour ironing then feet up until an early night I think.

Tinsel! Welcome back and that's great news!

    Evening ladies

I've moved over from last weeks thread and brought the things I AM going to do tonight then tomorrow please someone give me some serious kicking as I will have no distractions for 2 days Mon/Tues.

DS will still be away and OH has accepted overtime at stations that are over an hour away which means he wont be home before I need to go to work. He will therefore have to take DD to my mums (which luckily is on the way) for a sleepover each night meaning from around 5.30 each day I'm on my own. As I am soooo not used to having any me time, I will have to fly, so if you see my little green light on give me a shove.

Rach - you look fantastic and I am so glad you have a fab day.

Pigpen - thanks for the list and yours room list is huge stuff, how long will it take to get it all done

    All those hurting :grouphug:

    So tonight I will

Go and collect DD from friends
Take Gammon that I baked to my friend
    and
Write an inventory of your cupboards contents and what needs using first - got one but needs updating but its sooooo long - weekend job I think - didnt get done yet but I might do later
Remove and wash bed linen and duvet covers - changing shortly
Vacuum & turn mattress before replacing with fresh linen.. will do when change linen
Wipe the bed frame it is amazing how fluffy they get! - will do this as well
Clear out your handbag and coat pockets and update your finances.. if needed of course! - coat pocket fine as new coat but will sort bag

    OK well I'll try.

    See ya later
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!
