Dusty I looked up the error code on the net and it seems the heating element has gone
the lower washer arm came off a while ago. Knew I could source a part for that fairly cheaply so long as I could fix it myself. But a heating element would be £45 plus carriage, washer arm about £8 plus carriage for both and then someone to fix them, starts to look like it would be better just replacing. Checked out a couple of other forums and it seems these problems can be recurring so could be cheaper in the long run to cut my losses now.

Afternoon all
hope you are all flying well and happy! I am dead chuffed with myself.
I have been at my hubby for the last 4 months to take my old washing machine & tumble dryer down to the recycling centre (5 minute drive by the way) but he has never gotten round to it. The WM was cluttering up the kitchen and the TD taking up space in the garage. Which was making me
At the bus stop waiting for the school bus and this lorry is coming up with funny music playing (rather like an ice cream van) - the lorry is half full of old bikes. One of the dad's that comes to the bus stop (he is with the same regt as hubby) tells us its the scrap metal man. So about 5 of us asked him to stop the guy and talk to him (we cant speak german that well and his ex wife was german)
So a nice conversation (that no-one understood) and just after the school bus, there is the lorry waiting outside my house. They took the WM and the TD away and for free!!! So dead chuffed.
And there is a space in the kitchen for the unit in my hallway - i can now jig the furniture around the way i want it!!! Bonus is that the hall and kitchen have tiled floors so i won't hurt my knackered up back cos all i have to do is slide the unit along the floor!!!
What a result - get rid of stuff we don't want, at no cost and helping the environment!!!:T :j :T :j :T
Well, enough skiving, back to the flying!!

WM and TD are a pain in the bum to get rid of unless you have a van!
Not got any further with my flying, was just starting in the bathroom when my mum phoned for a chat. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
Back from swim and it was lovely! We were the only ones in there for over an hour. I can see me using it a lot this year, maybe even going for an hour whilst DD2 at nursery;) (me time by order of Pigpen:D ).
Just having a catch up and coffee and painting my nails at the same time. DD2 just come up saying she wants a cuddle so will sit down for half hour and then do HHC in the bedroom as it is a pit in there - stuff everywhere:eek: .0 -
lol well whenever I make a plan it gets messed up!
just spent an hour on the phone trying to explain to Dad how to fix his computer :rotfl:
So I need to get out - it will be a mad dash I think and I am going to get caught in traffic now.
Did manage to get filters on TD fluff free and the windows in the Dining Room cleaned (on the inside - will need to do the outside later)
Michelle - I think they got round the H&S aspect with bottled water from the water board - but still very bad of him not to give the parents the option - I didn't HAVE to send him in - it just gave me a bit of time with baby and to get a bit of housework done. Anyway we moved him to the nursery attached to the "big" school that he would be moving on to and he really thrived there - which is why I know that lo will be fine when she starts there on Monday. The fear of sending her to a local nursery after what happened last time put me off and the nursery attached to the school will only take them from 3... it is only 2 days a week after all - but omg it will be strange to be home on my own :rotfl:0 -
Afternoon ladies
JillD - loving your action plan, well done
Shell - glad the funeral went okay
AnW's - thats pants about the DW, nightmare
Bonsibabe - result on the scrap man!
Been out all morning with DS, only went to IL's but nice to get out after being stuck in for three days. DS seems much better, slept 6.45 to 7.15am this morning without us going in!!! Yay, sleep! Started as soon as I got in and managed to
Get DS into cot from car still asleep
Got dogs out of car, fed and sorted them
Washing pegged out
Opened and dealt with post
Opened and unpacked Mothercare delivery
S&S kitchen and lounge
Cleaned downstairs loo
Collected all stray toys, etc
Ironed load from yesterday
DW on and then unloaded
Spoke to sister on phone about weekend plans
Made a brew
Not bad for about 45 mins!
Took me ages to get online, connect seems dodgy so I if disappear thats why.
DH and I are stopping at a hotel tomorrow night, really looking forward to it but haven't left DS overnight yet so a bit nervous. Need to do a few bits upstairs ready for them stopping over but DH should be home early today as hes on the road all day so when he gets in I need to
dust guest room, put duvet under bottom sheet, S&S guest bathroom and put towels out, put heating on for 2nd floor, hoover 1st floor, hoover 2nd floor, dust our bedroom and DS's, clean ensuite
Oh, DH just back so I can get on once DS is up. xxLightbulb moment 15th Feb 2007:doh: Now Debt Free and plan on it staying that way!
Baby on board!:D0 -
Nothing done yet apart from DW (she says checking that Pigpens light is off.....) Work this morning and then took the boys out for a bit. Really must unstick myself off this seat..... Perhaps if I cleaned the chair it would help?
Serena - thanks for the suggestion last week - I got a saracocca confusa today as it was all my local nursery had, but it does smell really lovely. I was supposed to be buying me some flowers for valentines day (oh the romance!) but got it instead.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
Bonsibabe - result about the scrap metal man. My DH left ours out the front of the house meaning to take it to the tip one weekend. He never got round to it. On the Monday morning there was a knock at the door and the dodgiest looking man ever asked if he could have it. No problem! DH came home and asked where it had gone. I told him I took it to the tip!
Michelle - I love your photos. He looks such a happy little boy! I almost feel broody but not quite!
I've spent the afternoon sitting in the conservatory staking out the bird feeders. I had a robin come and look and then it flew away. I mean, it's like bird heaven here with nuts, seed, fat balls but they just don't want to know! I had a few green and blue tits last week and nothing since. Maybe it's a good sign that there's plenty of food round here but i'm still not happy. Do I have to send them a personal invitation to come and eat here!?! Ok, i'm getting obsessed.
Oh, oh, oh a green finch has just landed, can everyone keep the noise down so it doesn't go away!0 -
OMG, it definately have lazyitis! I just cant be @rsed
Maybe something to do with getting up ay 6am? I feel really tired and a bit down for no real reason:o Have chopped the chicken and marinated(marinaded??) it. emptied the DW and done the dishes. Oh and i collected poo:D She's a little blighter, the doc said if we got the sample back by 3 it would go today, LO did her poo at 3.05:rolleyes:

ssshhh! "whispers so as to not scare mudbaths birdies"

Gonna make a coffee and attack our bedroom so going for a 4-4.30 HHC - any takers??
Nails look nice painted my have to do it regularly. I did it today cos I bought a new colour for the ball on Saturday and wanted to check it matches my dress (sad I know but I dont get out much:o ).0
