***OOOOOh*** I'm livid! My d-i-l has just asked if me if I knew a red fiat parks on my driveway on a Thursday morning. It may park up other mornings, but that's the only morning she doesn't leave the house about the same time as me.

The cheek of that car driver!

Tomorrow I'm launching 'Operation Red Fi-art'. As you know, I'm working from home tomorrow so what I'll do is pretend to go to work about the same time and park the car around the corner. Then, if the old Fi-art parks on my drive, wait for him/her to go to whereever they go and then whip the car back and park it across the drive blocking them in.

I might then become selectively deaf and not hear the doorbell ring which it's bound to......

Or is that over-reactive of me?

Have to dash to my meeting now, but would appreciate your thoughts.

I love it! Go for it!!!!!!

Oh, you can buy your own clamping set, or print off a 'parking ticket'!!!
  • Definately do it soappie I'd be furious if it was my drive

solway and serena and others feeling yucky- big hugs for feelign better very soon

JillD- I have nothing to add to the already wise words of others, but it's great that you will be doing something again that's just for you, so important to have that time.

Today DH has hoovered the lounge and tidied in there.
I have cleaned the bathroom and had a quick tidy in the kitchen.
Can't really stick to the list as we are away from Wed morning until Thursday tea time so doing what I can over the next couple of days.

    This evening I need to....

    make lunch for tomorrow
    do some ironing
    finish off kitchen
sort out finances against on line banking
    sort out handbag
make a start on packing over night bag
...it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.

    Evening all

Dont kick me off yet I'm still eating my tea (being a slob and eating it at the computer) while I catch up on todays [strike]ramblings[/strike] posts. A bit stuffed now as I should have only had 1 JP with the chicken curry instead of the 2. Thing is will it make me feel fat and bloated so that I sit and do nothing or will it give me the energy to do more ?

Fingers crossed everything goes ok for tinsel

You're sounding a bit more positive today Jill and sounds like a good idea for a night. I think I'd like to open an hotel and ladies club called escape and then I'd invite you all to come and stay. We'd only do luxury stuff and pampering ....... ah dream on

So go for it soappie that would seriously serve them right

Hope you get sorted SSL sounds like a rough time for you

You've done loads today Mudbath - I can see where you've been theres a lovely clean patch in the middle of your post

Glad to see you stuck up to the rudeness of that receptionist tracy

I think you're an amazing lady AnW's mum, I too hadnt realised the circumstances in which you lost your DH and yet you are always so lovely when we are man bashing at a time when you could be telling us to make the most of it.

Michelle its lovely to see a post without a list so hope you taking it easy this week

Pigpen - I wish I could make my OH do stuff

I cant remember any other things I wanted to say except to all those with poorly family or poorly themselves, big hugs and hope you feel better soon, and to everyone else I hope you have a great evening.

As for today had a pretty easy day at work which was just as well as I was suffering with AF but a couple of tabs and feeling better.

DS halo has slipped badly as I came home to a letter from his school telling me that him and some of his mates had "systematically broken the light covers in a classroom" and that they want paying for them. Of course the little monkey didnt tell me about that before he went on a skiing holiday did he, and he's not replied to my text either !!!

DD at mums for the night and OH at work so just me and doogie now so guess I better go and get on before you all start kicking me. Permission to start now if my light is on

Soappie I can't believe the cheek of that person, it's trespass at the very least. Make a not of the registration number before you speak to the person involved and get a photograph of it parked on your drive. You should charge them rent of the parking space for every day you have not been there since you moved in. They need to prove they have not been using it all those times!

Gosh- it's an emotional rollercoaster on the flylady thread today- weddings, new arrival, good news, bad news, illness, ... I think this thread should get a prize for being the loveliest thread on MSE!

Been shattered all day- not sure why as dd is sleeping through on the whole (well, from 11pm bottle till 6.45 ish) most nights, but yesterday we had a friend staying, so a late night of deep debate (late for me anyway) and then up with dd at 6.45.

Even went to bed for a nap this afternoon! Not done that for AGES!!!!

Meddling Monday- Living Room, Hall and Stairs
    Level 1

[STRIKE]Remove clutter making sure stairs especially are safe
    [/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Clean TV, other electricals and cabinets[/STRIKE]
If you have a porch.. clean that out too, or at least declutter it!.. I'll polish my terracotta tiles.. sweep away the leaves and deweb mine! I have some MEAN spiders!

    Level 3
Wipe light switches, sockets (make sure they are not switched on!!) and banister
Clean windows & any other glass like mirrors, pictures etc
Tidy shoes, coats and bags .. Are there any that need rehoming?
Wipe skirtings, doorframes and other paintwork
    Extra Mission:
Pick one or more of the following tasks –

    • Paperwork clearance.. spend 15 minutes minimum sorting through those piles of paper.
    • Vacuum under furniture you can manage to move without hurting yourself
    • Clean a radiator or two.
    • Binbag dance.. Get a binbag.. fill it and bin it!!!
    • HHI.. get that mountain gone!
    Plus dw, wm etc.

Seem to have friends visiting for coffee a few times this week, which means less flying time, but also means the "visible bits" will be kept slightly tidier than usual!!

Still need to keep on with the box room / study sort out.

Back, not spent all this time on the quidco email, just part of it :rotfl: ended up going to visit DPs Dad for a while so just got home. Hall is now empty, conservatory still needs a few things moving but I did sort through a fex boxes today. All after 2.30pm of course as had to take DP to get the next part of his tattoo £140!!! Trust me to say I'd pay for this part for his birthday next week, silly idea. Anyway I took my books there so studied another chapter and a bit, couldn't even consider just sitting there doing nothing when I have so much to do. Sitting room was done but now has shoe rack, coats, gloves basket, car seats etc in there until the carpets are done tomorrow.

Soappie, a friend of mine had the same problem. She has a drive & garage, always parks car in the garage. One morning she didn't go to work because of an appointment. She went to get the car out and couldn't because someone had parked a car in front of the garage door. She got a taxi to her appointment and when she got in waited for the person to come back, who worked at the hospital down the road who's only response was 'I seen the empty drive, thought I may aswell use it, been parking there for months' got in the car and naffed off! Following that my friend has had a safety post installed, one of those anti theft ones, but is considering advertising the space for parking to make some money from it.

We had parking issues, when we first moved in workmen working on a house behind ours were using the drive then more recently being blocked in on the drive which was annoying, took parking behind one of them to find out who it was (and that he didn't even live in our street) and be able to speak to him about it.
One day I might be more organised...........
    GC: £200

    Pigpen this message stops here

Please don't tell pigpen that I won't be doing much this week because it's half term...i'll keep telling her i've done it all if she asks! :T
