  • Go for it Soappie! The nerve of some people, honestly!!

I don't think I've done anything on the list but I am feeling proud of myself anyway. I woke up this morning in so much pain with my back that I didn't think I would make it to work, but I did and I managed to take the dog out before I left.

My boss did her usual, making me run around like a headless chicken for the last 15 minutes and even my workmates were telling me to leave work undon as they could see I was in so much pain. My boss was a complete mare to me today because she wanted me to hoover her office (I'm the administrator but get treated like a general dogsbody including cleaner) and I said I couldn't because of my back. After that she just decided to make my day as difficult as possible.

I managed to cook tea when I got home, DS unloaded the dishwasher for me and took the dog out. I have just put DD to bed. Now I am going to rest my back.

Thank you everyone for your input to my idea about what's now been slightly rebadged as

    Operation Red F[STRIKE]i[/STRIKE]art

because it looks better that way!

It will also be, henceforth, referred to occasionally as ORF for short (as in "Get orf moy land!")

Tia I didn't know you could buy clamping equipment - I might just have a look at that one.
AnWsMum thanks for that tip about photographing etc. I hadn't thought of doing that and your idea about getting them to prove they haven't parked up and charging them back charges for the privilege is a nice one :D
Solway the road I live on has unrestricted parking.

In fact, it's a small backwater of a large town. It's almost a cul-de-sac but not quite. You can't go anywhere except this little area - i.e. no through route to anywhere. But, as it's only about ten minutes walk away from the offices of a very large local employer, we tend to get workers park up in the day as it's free. That, plus the fact that several properties on this street don't have off-road parking and there's a garage around the corner which tends to park just serviced cars on the road too, to save their garage space, on road parking during the day is pretty much at a premium.

It has to be someone who visits somewhere v. local - i.e. one of the five houses opposite me, or a couple either side otherwise, how would they know I won't be back? I bet they visit someone close and that someone's said 'oh yes, it's OK, park up there, she'll never know, she won't be back until this evening'. And of course, the days I'm home, I'm parked on the drive so they know I'm in!

If tomorrow's inaugural session of ORF doesn't produce results, my son is going to bring a web cam home from his work which we can set up to sneakily survey the drive and I'll be able to monitor it from work. (OK I know it's the cool smilie, but it does look a bit like a spy with the glasses!)

Soappie - OMG thats so cheeky, I would be getting something done about that
Solway - sorry but the poo bags made me laugh, put a sticker on your bin saying 'not public'
Jill - gald your brighter today, sounds like you have lovely friends
Mudbath - yay on doggie, dreading anything happening to mine

Thanks for the DS well wishes. Slept for about 20mins, ended up putting him in his buggy in living room and got him to have another hour. Temps coming down, still poorly but better, keeps crying out but trying to let him settle down.

Thanks for the comments on the receptionist - I felt ever so proud of myself! I'm not normally one to keep cool and put my point across, I either cry or swear but I let her have it 'nicely' today. All the other patients were smiling at me and sort of saying 'give it to her!' LOL.

DH managed to get the playhouse I've been after for DS and came home at 3 to help out knowing I was tired and he was poorly, really pleased with him for thinking about us. He took DS outside in his pram and built the house without any bother or whinging! My word, hes helping!

Ok I've been a lazy @rse lusting after LUSH as DD and I still havent had our stuff delivered. If anyone knows the shop in Hull we'd gladly pay to have a grab bag from there as apparently they still had some this morning. Anyway now I've given myself an hour to see how much of todays list I can do.

I will be back and I will have done something.
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!

Right two out of three in bed, que OH to walk through the door.

I started the bathroom whilst DS3 was in the bath, Wiped out all of the bathroom cupboard and have done most of the surfaces in their. Will do the rest in the morning before my shower as DS1 in there now with the door firmly locked.

Going to do HHI so I can put the board away which is in the living room which I hope to get to tomorrow.

Tracey glad the little one is improving a bit and that your OH is behaving too.
Jill the spa looks great I am mighty jealous - enjoy

    ORF update

Just been honing the finer details of the operation. Spoken to best friend Spy D at the end of the road. Spy D has a v. long driveway upon which my car can be parked without being seen - better than parking it on street where it can be seen. She also reminded me that I can actually, from her house, walk round the back of my side of the road and re-enter my own home from my Back Door - !

This will mean that I won't be seen returning. And, if I leave at the usual time, with work clothes on, dog on lead (dog comes to work with me) no one will know I'm not there. I just need to remember to take the back door key with me. So ORF commences at approximately 07:20 Wednesday morning:cool:

Let's just hope the Red F[STRIKE]i[/STRIKE]art parks up. If it doesn't, it's then plan B with the web cam.

And Mudbath, if I pull this one off, rest assured, I may well consider other covert operations. Hetty Wainthrop had better look out!

    :)
