Horses, yes. I don't normally go anywhere near one - and definitely not THAT close.Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
Good afternoon everyone,
this is the first chance i`ve had today to catch up as i`m at work and it`s been really busy.
I was up nice and early at 6am and it was just coming light as i left home, it`s a beautiful day so i`m looking forward to home time soon.
DH rang earlier to say he was out with the hounds with some relatives so all the dogs could have a run around together, hope he remembered to hang out the washing and empty the dw too. The bm had finished as i got up so i know theres a nice loaf waiting so that i can make sandwiches for the morning and our evening meal is all ready and waiting as i made it all yesterday.
Best go and do some work, have a lovely afternoon everyone and a belated welcome to all the newbies today.

Afternoon everyone
I'm really fumming with DH. Yesterday we cleared out the garage and we are supposed to be taking it to the tip today. He has gone to bed with a migraine. Its funny how these migraines only turn up when theres work to be done.
I have been to my dads borrowed and loaded the trailer including a fridge freezer and a very heavy gas fire. I need him to come with me to help at the other end. I also need to get to Aldi before 4pm and get the stuff ready for tomorrow but I can't get in the bedroom to do that because hes in bed. I'm wondering if the blokes at the tip will help me if I need to go on my own. Think I will have to go and find out.
Have a good afternoon everyoneSorting my life out one day at a time0 -
Good Afternoon all,
I often have to go to the tip by myself, I have started taking a packet of biscuits with me to donate to the tea break biscuit tin for the Lads who work there. They are always more than willing to help me unload I always get a cheery thank you to.
I have just discovered this thread, what a wonderful way to spend a quick coffee break inbetween all the sunday house work.
My OH is off at football with DS1, they were at Rugby this morning. DS1 cannot decide if he wants to play Rugby or Football, so at the moment he is doing both. I have already told DS2 and DS3 (4 and 3 respectivly) that they are going to play tennis and cricket. I dont want to stand next to any more football/Rugby pitches in the freezing cold!
The washing is on the line, the sun is shineing and the little ones are watching Micky Mouse whilst I drink Coffee. The world is a good place to be.

HI everybody :hello:
Having a lovely leisurely day and the weather is gorgeous here in London - am off to the recycling place and Mr T's in a mo, which involves a nice walk across the park (our Tesco is open 11-5 on Sundays).
Just been knocking together a batch of mushroom risotto, it made enough for my lunch plus five more portions for the freezer. Used carnaroli rice for the first time, instead of arborio - yum!
Sorry I can't stop long - got to get things done around the flat, and I've got two opera reviews to finish off this evening, one of which is from Madam Butterfly that we saw on Friday. I've been writing reviews for opera websites for years, and although I don't get paid for it it does often get me two free tickets for things, which would otherwise cost a fortuneShez - glad you enjoyed the opera, we must do it again sometime
You should put your foot down with DS's girlfriend - she either needs to pay up or take the responsibility for finding somebody else to take the ticket.
Hugs to all who need them

Welcome shed head (and any newbies I may have missed). I was doing something for tea with minced beef... don't know what planet I am on today, I took stewing steak out of freezer this am:o
So I've divided it into 2 lots and put some in slow cooker (to freeze later) and some in a casserole in oven (intend to bake this afternoon anyway). Not sure what the results will be... In sc i have stewing steak, onion, pepper, split peas, mushrooms, water, potatoes etc and in casserole I have everything the same apart from no potatoes or split peas. and I have added some carrots. so tea will not be ready til about 7pm. we had a late lunch anyway.GE 36 *MFD may 2043

Afternoon folks,
OH and I were supposed to be going out for a bike ride today, but I rode my bike to the end of the 'drive' and found that it is really uncomfortable - the seat is slightly too high so I have to be in a very awkward position to hold the handlebars and it hurts my wrists. So, that was that plan out of the window - we will have to buy a cheap second bike from the paper or something.
Anyway, he had to drop some steel off at work, so we took his work van and had a nice lunch at a pub on the way. Now just doing a bit of gardening, washing etc.
I should probably do some baking so we have chocolate for lunches tomorrow.
Hope you all have a great Sunday :beer:We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
Afternoon all
Shez - I'd be fuming - good luck sorting it out.
Joannasmum - Hope you get ok at the tip. Don't mean to cause offence but it might be worth a chat with DH to ask for his input on when things get done, I know mine told me off recently for being a bit naggy (not implying that you are) about doing it and doing it now!! I think it's a woman thing though - if we've thought about doing something then we just want it done....men just don't seem to be as focused. He now knows that one sunday morning a month will be dedicated to tip runs/recycling/loft sorting etc - he's much happier knowing it's all out the way in one day (as long as he's had a couple of weeks notice) And if it was a genuine migrene, I hope he feels better soon.
Hugs to all in need today. So nice to see the sun again, went for a lovely long walk along the beach this morning with inlaws - the sea was so calm and loads of people were sitting outside their beach huts having bbq brekkie - I'm very keen on buying a beach hut but DH keeps snorting when I mention it
Put a base coat on my welsh dresser today and started to wax the bits that need doing - it's looking lovely. Ebay sales finished earlier - £136 :j Just got to pack it all up now - 12 people have already paid so DH has just wrapped theirs, will check back later and see if anyone else has paid for posting tomorrow.
Was supposed to be toad in the hole for dinner but I've run out of time so it's now sausage and chips and a glass of Lambrini (yuck!) bought a bottle as I've never tried it - can see why now but in true MSE style I shall not waste it

Pooky, I totally agree with you. When I want my OH to do something I do tend to expect it to be quite instantaneous too!!! I think it's like you said, We like to get jobs out of the way while they are fresh in our minds.
Shez I agree with the other advice you've been given, make DSs girlfriend pay for ticket and let her sort out how to get rid of it-she might learn then that there are somethings you can't dilly dally about, like the things that cost money!!!
Csarina thanks for the link your card is beautifulGE 36 *MFD may 2043
