Morning Everyone! - Here I am MrsMix!!! :hello:

Had a busy week, so I havent had a chance to get on here (sorry).

Not very happy today, as I booked tickets for the 3D U2 concert at the Imax, I asked DS1 & girlfriend if they would like to come for my birthday and also her birthday. They said yes, and after changing dates etc to suit them, he told me yesterday she didnt want to go! Should have said that before I paid for tickets, especially as money is tight for us at the moment!!
I could have just gone with DH on a day I wanted too!
I'm so annoyed they think its ok to muck me about, but they wouldnt have if it was her mum booked the tickets! So I feel like worthless poo at the bottom of the pile today!! Sometimes it feels like I do everything for everyone, but no one ever thinks of me for once!:o (selfish I know, but sorry I cant help it). Rant over......lets move on.

I went to the Opera friday night with Bargainrzl to see Madam butterfly, which was really good!!!! My first time to one! So now I'm a proper cultured tart!;) :rotfl: - seriously thanks again BR xx:kiss: hope yr dinner party went well and yr new cutlery!

Friday lunchtime I bumped into my old boss from canary wharf, who was in my local asda?! (which was strange), so I took the plunge and said hello to see what his reaction was to me! he was pleasant (surprisingly, seeing as he lost me my job! ). So hopefully I showed him I was above all that;) :D

Must get the kids out today in sun, its glorious here!

    have a good SUNday!! xx

ps: they are re-running Pride & Prejudice on BBC4 (started last nite)!!

pps: BIG BELATED BIRTHDAY WISHES CM!!!! xxx

Haven't joined in the thread before !

Having a money saving breakfast and dinner today using things from my freezer. Bacon rolls for brekkie and then roast beef, roast potatoes and yourshire puddings with icecream for dinner.

Will be a pricey lunch though - meeting friends at softplay for lunch. But don't do this too often and it's a lovely softplay area and does make yummy food. Will also means that the kids get to burn off some energy and I get peace on the drive home as they'll fall asleep. I don't do this too often so it's a bit of a treat although we're repeating it again on Wednesday as it's the school holidays here and again catching up with people I don't usually manage to.

    Off for brekkie
So little money - so much time

I was watching this last night, DS came in and changed the channel :-
Me: Oi I was watching that!
Him: Its not as if you don't know the story, you probably know the next line
Me: Yes, it's the bit where Lizzie sees the dog and Darcy watches her when he gets out of the bath.
    Him: You are just sad.

But I will be watching again today, thanks for reminding me!

  • Morning All

Up late today - still on American time.

Lovely and sunny here but a bit nippy.

Am only one up at the mo, have taken OH a cup of tea but DS still dead to the world. DD had an unexpected sleep over so no idea when I will see her.

Roast chicken with all the trimmings today although think I will do it for dinner rather than lunch. Instead first thing this morning will do some paperwork, catch some of DS' footie match which is luckily at home then this afternoon will start the ironing. Have 2 weeks of Mistress' & Trial & Retribution to watch so that should keep me going.

Really need to make sure everyone has an early night tonight as we need to be up sharpish tomorrow as have dentist at 10 and its an hour away. Its only a checkup but I will be needed some work done as half my tooth fell away whilst on holiday - it was the cinammon almonds that done it but they were very nice.

Off now for a surf whilst I finish my tea then will be jumping in the bath.

    Have a great day.

    morning all,

Beautiful bright day here too, DD is off out with her dad today, so OH and I will get out walking its too nice to stay indoors. Had my mums dog for the night last night, as my dad is on new tablets for his joint pain and they had flared up, she is my dogs sister so we have had lots of haring around and general miss-behaviour :D

Got roast lamb and the trimmings for dinner, will do it for 6 when DD gets back from her dads.

Might make some cakes later, although might just veg out on sofa :D

welcome to Cruiksl studentgirl and gilliansyle

    have good days all xx

I am seriously regreting losing my temper last night, I kicked the bookcase in frustration and now I think I have broken my big toe! I still managed to get DD ready to go to her dads today, he is having her overnight and taking her to school in the morning so I actually get a Monday morning where I only have to get myself ready for work. Yippeeeee!!

Good morning all ...............didn't sleep so well last night .............nephew phoned, been in a car accident. He and his family are ok apart from he'd cut his head open and they were all really shaken up. Wasn't their fault......couple of young lads having a race in their car with some friends and didn't bother with the red light ! At least they stopped and admitted it. All this on top of his mother's funeral a week ago. Poor soul was really down. Plus he's just found out he's lost his job.............he'd thought about retiring next year anyway, now looks like it'll be next week ! Still, he's a builder so with any luck should pick up work of some sort to carry him through for a while.
On a brighter note...........I put a battered old bike on Don't Dump That ste yesterday and had reply this morning..............someone should be collecting it on Tuesday...........so, feeling hopeful I've put an old chest of drawers on there. Just hope the person who wants the bike realises it needs fixing. I did say this on my posting so they should know. Just hate the thought of someone coming to collect something and finding it won't do.

Lovely day again............still very cold though (maybe its my old bones..........lol)

Have a great Sunday and hugs (((((((((((((((((((:o ))))))))))))to all who need them.

  • Morning all,

Welcome to studentgirl, gilligansyle and Cruiksl. :hello:
Moggins if you are going to break your big toe, don't kick a bookcase, :naughty: , make it worth your while, kick your XDH. :p:D Hope you haven't broken it btw.
Shez you are a proper culture vulture now, aren't you (well, you always were I suppose, after all you watch Pride and Prejudice regularly. :rotfl: ). I would love to take DD to see Madam Butterfly as she has watched it on tv and video a few times but hasn't seen it live. Might try and get tickets for it in Glasgow. As for the U2 tickets, ask DS for the money for his GF's ticket so that you can sell it to someone else. Why should you be out of pocket because she has changed her mind?
Vicky A point to point? Is that something to do with horses? If it is, I wouldn't stand next to one after yesterday's disaster. :D

Had a lie-in today and got up to gorgeous sunshine. It's amazing how energised I feel when I see the sun. So plans today are to hoover throughout the house, wash the kitchen floor, cook a rubber chicken, make some bread, do some ironing and in amongst all this, watch the rugby.

Need to visit the recycling centre to dump some plastics and cardboard as all my recycling boxes were blown away in the terrible winds we had recently. Managed to find one of them (a cheeky neighbour had claimed it and put some stuff in it. ) I took the stuff out and took my box back. It can take up to four weeks for replacements to be delivered so I need to keep the amounts down as our binmen work to rule.

    Have a sunny Sunday. xx
