Here's more of what Ethical Juicers say:Unfortunately we have had to close this offer. We are truly sorry to do this and offer the following explanation. We hope you will understand. We sent an email out on 2nd February to our modest mailing list offering the free bodycare kit. We had a few hundred or so and we no longer sold them so felt content to give them away to our subscribers. Our maths seemed reasonable given the size of our mailing list and the %age response you'd expect. Monday morning we discover more orders then there are subscribers to our list? In fact there are over 12,000. As it turns out our generosity was posted on (at least) 5 'freebie' websites. From comments on these websites there is a concern that we might not honour these orders. Given that they each would cost £2.38 to post the postage alone would cost us £28560!
However, it is our true desire to give something to as many people as possible - it's what we're about. Read more on our charities page. So we've been on the phone this morning, first to Health Quest, makers of Organic Blue. They currently have no stock due to reformulating the product! However, they have kindly offered free sample bottles to us which we intend to forward on to you. However, they didn't offer 12000 bottles and we'd like to give you more. So we're currently on the phone to suppliers of similar products, i.e. ethical/eco/natural/organic toiletries - people like Lavera, Faith in Nature, Green People, Purely Skincare, Urtekram, Yaoh, Weleda, Earth Friendly Kids, Bio Etic and more. This is interesting for us, because we don't sell or intend to sell any of these products, so we are doing these nice friendly companies a big marketing favour.
One final note - we will not never ever ever share you information with other companies. Neither will we email you three time a week. Promise. It seems to be a creditable and ethical company, so in my view it would be unfair to inundate them with applications for freebies a second time! If you want to apply for this, please think twice - then don't do it!0 -

But they added the new freebie offer to their web page themselves after the 12000 plus freebie hunters appeared and even provide a ready made link on the page to easily add to the shopping basket. They have also made the freebie postage free. They are not promising a freebie, its a maybe, they say they will get a freebie of to new applicants if and when they can.
They have had over 9000 people through the site since they canbcelled the original freebie offer and have obviously realised its a great opportunity to expand their possible customer base via their e-meil newsletters.
They say themselves they have had more traffic in one weekend than they normally have inside an entire year. They want people to apply for this surprise freebie offer.
They have discovered a new and powerfull advertising opportunity and they are quite right to make what they can of it."Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0 -
This is copied from the ethical juicers page.
When I visited this morning before posting the numbers were at just above 9000 and its now at 10,712 so over 1500 people have visited their website inside the last 10 hours alone.
Wow!!!What a fantastic advertising campaign. How much do you think it would cost them to advertise and get this much publicity via traditional marketing methods?
They are nice business people but they are not stupid.Good luck to them for taking a surprise opportunity and running with it.
If you click on the link to the counter below it will give you the current level of site traffic after the original offer ended. This many people have visited this page since the above count:"Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0 -
The email I got said they are aiming to get 20,000 freebies.
So the new list of people might actually get something too seeing as they had just under 12500 applicants.
They should add some lower priced ranges of stuff to the site, toiletries, food etc to bring in some profit from this advertising.0 -
has anyone received anything as yet?
- I came, I saw, I conquered :j

Me neither, and I actually paid the postage!
...Linda xxIt's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.0 -
I got the shampoo the other day along with the tub of sprouting seeds that I ordered at the same time - total cost was £2.99 thanks to codes used.
Other exampe of stuff received are on the Gone but not Forgotton thread:
