Well I am now a member of the B&Q letter club and also while I was out, an answerphone message from the lovely Lynne.
I was happy to let it drop until I saw the words 'regrettable but obvious mistake' in the letter. How sarky can you get.
Bearing in mind it was shown as being available for £1600 on Jan 30th on the Twenga site, to my mind it was perfectly conceivable that they had been further reduced to shift them in the BIG SALE.
Their contempt for their customers bugged me. I have lodged a complaint with the Trading Standards via the comsumer direct site.Twins, twice the laughs, twice the fun, twice the mess!:j:j0 -
I've sent off my details to Watchdog too - they will get inundated! But I guess the more who write, the more likely they are to look into it!0

Mine has gone too.
Anymore?
Learn from the mistakes of others - you won't live long enough to make them all yourself.0 -
I cannot believe it was 1600 pounds on 30/1 that has just made it 10 times worse!!!
Surely this is making our case against B&Q stronger?

Im going to point out that price thing to Watchdog in my message for them to take a look at. How can they increase the price so much, then try telling us the price we bought it at was an 'obvious' misprice? Not so obvious really!0

I hope you are reading this B&Q you naughty people you!!
Could Mr Martin Lewis himself give us any advice - after all this is his website and we are talking big money saving here - if we were to get one that is!!

Just sent my details to Watchdog. This is what I said:
On Saturday 9th Feb 08 I ordered a Palladium GR3 Garden Room from B&Q on-line (in their sale) for £357.11 plus £20 delivery charge. However I have today received a letter from them saying that they mistakenly showed the price of this item at this price, instead of the correct price of £3579.10 and that my order has been cancelled. No money was actually debited from my debit card, but from time or order until this morning the money was actually allocated from my bank account.
They say that it was a regrattable but obvious mistake, however I do not think it was obvious as the Summer House was advertised at the same price in two different colours (separately advertised items) and it was part of their sale. Also I found a website which shows that B&Q were offering the same item at the end of Jan 08 for £1600, so it does not seem 'obvious' that the price advertised was wrong.
The only compensation they have offered is a 10% discount if I wish to re-order, and have provided no details of how to take the matter further.
I can supply a copy of the letter that has been sent to me, along with a confirmation e-mail that I was sent after placing my order and a receipt which I printed from their website at the end of the check-out process. Please can you help? Thank you.0 -
I have just left a raving review for B&Q on the Twenga website - feel free to leave one yourselves!!

I'm insulted that I couldn't spot their "obvious" error. Perhaps my IQ is not what it should be.
I too have reported to watchdog their "obvious" error in sending me a truely insulting response where they can not even calculate 10% off £3579.10 correctly.
I was going to us this shed for my donkey. Clearly B and Q must have a whole herd of donkies for them to refuse my donkey a home0
