Arriving tomorrow instead. Now why coul'dnt B&Q just do that with the play equipment????
True and well done to Robert Dyas :T
I asked some of the staff I spoke to over this fiasco why this wasn't possible, not only to save face but to satisfy all the dissapointed and obviously upset/angry customers over this.
I was told that it wasn't possible since they order in bulks of tens of thousands when placing orders with suppliers and it wasn't possible to order 1 or 2 of missing items, I said I hardly thought it was 1 or 2 we were talking about just from reading this sitethey then upped that amount to possibly 50 of particular items, hmmmm i far cry from 1 or 2  however they still said it wasn't possible, first i got the "the suppliers are discountinuing the ranges" then when pressed they admitted that it was actually B&Q that had decided to discontinue them.
I continued that surely since B&Q are major players and must have good customer relations with each supplier, I couldn't see how the supplier would fail to provide the amount needed to clear up this mess, but they insisted that still wasn't possibleermmmm can't be @rsed more like

I also emailed my details to Hampshire trading standards as per Mirandamayems post no. 692. I have just received a reply & they cannot help me as I do not reside in the area. I have to contact my local trading standards for help.

they'll still log the complaint, there'll refer you back to your local TS for advice, but in this instance it's not adivce you want, it's that they be made aware of how many people this has affected.
That's good news Miranda, I felt a bit daft when they emailed the reply. If everyone with this problem mails them they'll see that it's more than big, it's HUGE!!!0 -

That's odd because the first day that I had confimation from a customer service operator at B&Q that there was going to be a problem with the outstanding orders, they informed me that they had received 200 Ben Nevis playcentres in that day & that I would get a call allocating me one. I never did get one. So there you have it, an order of 200, not tens of thousands!!!!
I wish they'd get thier stories straight!0 -
Has anybody not received a refund yet? I complained 2 weeks ago and they said they would get back to me. They haven't. I've not had a refund or an offer of compensation and they've now had my money for 28 days.0

i have had no compensation eiether and they still have not refunded my money. i dont think they would have said anything if i had not rung them to find out where the hell the rest of my stuff was. feeling really down about it and can not see a bright ending.Smile and be happy, things can usually get worse!0

No refund for me either
So...B and Q people reading this....
WE ARE STILL DISSATISFIED CUSTOMERS WHO WILL TAKE IT ALL THE WAY0 -
Ordered a Mont Blanc - order confirmed etc etc
They rang to offer a Matterhorn as had cocked up on stock levels, said "yes fine". Had a call to say would be delivered today.
They rang on Monday to say I wouldn't be getting it after all and would be offering £20 compo.
Yesterday I received a card from the delivery company saying that delivery would be this afternoon.
This morning the vouchers arrived and the Matterhorn arrived this afternoon.Hopeless by name, hopeless by nature.0 -
Well....Hello board..another new member!!
Glad to see I am not on my own. I was telling a friend about how bad B+Q have treated me. The usual story ordered on the 16th, paid for, confirmation email, phone call 3/4 days later confirming delivery date, phone the delivery company day b4 delivery at 5.55pm to leave contact number to be told order had been cancelled. Got in from work the next day to find a card from the delivery company....phoned them up to find yes they had tried to deliver but no one in, but the order has now been cancelled by b+q an hour ago.
I have had no communication from B+Q at all and its a disgrace. Wrote to them in disgust at the PO box 4000 address given the name of Carl Byord, but as yet have not had any reply.
I have spent two weekends of my time getting the garden level and ready for the play centre....and fully intend to go to the small claims court if they do not resolve.
As anyone had any communication after writing to them....I still haven't had a refund...so now I have to pay a credit card bill for something not even rec'd.
Will write again on Monday giving 14 days notice of intent unless the matter is concluded to my satisfaction.0 -

Emailed me today as they couldn't find any existance of my order, funny how I was phoned yesterday to refund and apology cash.
Might go to B&Q, grab loads of fidly things, go to cheque out, cause long queue, then when asked to pay, say I've changed me mind and walk out;)

I know this has been mentioned before but i will re-raise the point. I have found some of the items in stock somewhere else..heres one, i believe its the matterhorn:
http://www.castorama.fr/boutique/sku/sku.jhtml?elementId=Casto601347&productId=CastoJA0302&_requestid=102277
It wouldn't be too hard for B&Q to get their hands on these to offer as replacements because the company in question is owned by Kingfisher..who also own B&Q!!!!
I think i've also seen table tennis tables on there but i don't speak french.0
