I don't think that £60 is nearly enough compensation, not in my case anyway..my loss is well over £600.
I'm sorry but £60 is an insult...especially when there are children involved..0 -
i don't think it's nearly enough either, but when you're weary, atleast it's better than £20.:rudolf:0

Don't get weary this is only the beginning, B&Q are very clearly in the wrong and i believe that they want people to drop out..the less people = the cheaper it is for them. Don't roll over and give them what they want. This needs to go the distance.
I only need to think of the look on my childrens faces when i told them that they wouldn't be getting the play equipment during their summer holidays after all..that gives me strength!!!0 -

I have to agree here, it's not nearly enough! Whilst I was looking at the other sites to see where we could purchase the items from elswhere my little one (3year old) was asking to look at the picture of the playcentre that the man in the lorry is going to bring. I told him that I'd lost the picture & the man in the lorry had lost the playcentre. There is still a space in the garden where his old smoby one (sold it to help fund the new one) was which was too be replaced with the B&Q one.
This is only the beginning & I will not be happy untill we see justice done. I also believe that the £** voucher is a damage limitation excercise, the ones that accept the vouchers are the ones that B&Q will not have to deal with later & it will be less of a loss for them later on.
I had the £20 vouchers through last Friday with a letter stating that if I accept them then it's in full & final settlement of any claim I allege arrises out of this transaction without admission of liability by B&Q plc. They were posted with a letter back yesterday special delivery saying that I was not willing to accept such a derisory amount given the circumstances. Will have to wait to see what thier reply will be to that.
I also emailed my details to Hampshire trading standards as per Mirandamayems post no. 692. I have just received a reply & they cannot help me as I do not reside in the area. I have to contact my local trading standards for help.
Has anyone heard anything back from Watchdog yet?
This is the first time I have heard of £60 worth of vouchers, it's been £10 or £20 up till now. Al Mac how did you manage to get £60 out of them?0 -
anyone got their address details?
Thanks

they'll still log the complaint, there'll refer you back to your local TS for advice, but in this instance it's not adivce you want, it's that they be made aware of how many people this has affected.

B&Q should take a leaf out of Robert Dyas' books - from my other posting (http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=80885), I ordered a gas barbecue - should have arrived monday - chased it today, and was told that the website should not have been displaying stock when I orderd (as they has none) - but manufacturers had been contacted to supply the over-orders. Arriving tomorrow instead. Now why coul'dnt B&Q just do that with the play equipment????0

Technically, for some bizarre reason which i can't remember, they actually have 60 days in which to return your cash
Not that it's happened to us:rudolf:0
